So pissed off

So I took my car to Advanced Powersports Inc. (API) back in May. They're the ones that did the turbo upgrade, the transmission stuff and everything else I had done at the time. The reason I ended up doing it all at once and at that time is because the plastic piece that connects the clutch pedal to the master cylinder broke so my car obviously wasn't going anywhere anyhow. The piece through DCX dealerships was going to take something like a week to come in anyhow. So Mark at API said he would do everything and made a bunch of empty promises to me. One of the things he said he would do would be to make a whole new piece for the clutch pedal/master cylinder that would be "unbreakable". Well, it's fuckin broke. And now my car will sit until I can either a) get a new one from DCX or b) find someone who can fix it right. So not only did I break this "unbreakable" piece within 5 months but I also found out he tried selling me a warranty for $495 (I believe it was) that I actually get for free. I talked to the guy who built my turbo and he said Garrett warranties all of his turbos for 1 year no questions asked. However, Mark felt compelled to try selling it to me for $495. This of course after he promises me the car back in two weeks and it ends up taking just about a month for everything to be said and done. And it only took that long because I sat there at the shop watching/waiting until midnight one night and 1AM another night. And after he did get everything together, he managed to somehow tune my car on the piggyback system I have to 9,000RPM. I redline at 6,000RPM and the rev limiter stops it at 6,250RPM. How Mark managed to pull -1 fuel at 9,000RPM is beyond me. So pretty much since I left his shop I've been paying for and fixing his mistakes.

I'm so fucking sick of their shit. I spent about $4,500. Some of the stuff I got a great deal on and some of the stuff I paid quite a bit. Bottom line is it should have been done right considering it took twice as long and I paid him almost all of the money up front.

And it's not only me that feels this way. Everyone I've talked to who has had experience with him says the same thing. "Yeah, he does good fab work but that's about it." And yes, I said everyone

Anyhow, if anyone has any suggestions for the plastic piece let me know. If someone has a hook-up at a Dodge or Chrylser dealership so I can get the part faster or if someone could make somethign let me know. Here are pictures of it.

Damn, Ryan that sucks. I wish I could be of some help, but I'm worthless on this issue, hope you get it back together soon. If you need a ride or something anytime let me know. If i"m not working or at school I'll be more then willing to help out until you get this fixed.

Has API offered to fix this issue for you when you talked to them about it? It seems they would take care of this issue before it reached this level of bashing on the internet.

Have you contacted Mark about these matters in an attempt to resolve this before going to the boards?

Also, how do you know he tuned your car to 9K

I just found an aftermarket piece for it for $65 actually. I'm going to see if they're in stock and if I can get it overnighted.

Give me the broken piece and ill see if i can have a metal on made up at work by the shop

Its been ahwile since i've been under my dash, but gm uses a similar design on the master. Mine has been fine for the last 2 years with heavy abuse. :) So whats the deal it just can't take the extra clamp load of an aftermarket clutch? Just talking out loud here, but what about using a spherical rod end/heim joint then threading the end of the shaft, and vwalaa, adjustable clutch master.

Sucks to hear about API. So they wont work with you or are you "done" with them?

i wouldn't take it back to someone who i felt was dishonest. whats that saying? screw me once, shame on you.. screw me twice, shame on me?

Yeah, that one. Like Dave said...I've tried too many times with Mark to get the little things settled and it was like pulling teeth. He's a super nice guy but he needs to hire some more people for his company to help out and get things done.

As for your thinking out loud, that's correct. As I read more on the SRT Forums I'm finding that aftermarket clutches and aparently mine in particular (it's an ACT) make the plastic piece more prone to breaking. I may give this $65 piece a try if I can get it soon enough otherwise I might go with something like what you said.

Man that sucks...

Where is that at? In the drivers foot well?
Yeah. It's a pain to see but if you look up under there you can see where it connects to them.

I wouldn't mind, I'm pretty sure you would have done the same thing for me...I think. :D
haha of course I would. The only thing I'd need a ride for is to work but I think I'm just going to get up early and go with my brother or something.

And yeah, that thing looks like it'll hold quite a bit.
