Since Granholm is the projected winner...

Because not everyone blames her for the problems with the Big Three. Very few of the problems with the domestic autos have anything to do with Michigan. We're hit hardest because we had more auto jobs.

So the same thing that is hurting us now has helped us for the last 50 years. I don't recall anyone complaining over the last 50 years as poor families were elevated out of poverty into the middle class by high paying union manufacturing jobs.

As for prop 2 - it looks to be a huge win. I worked the phones earlier today reminding everyone to vote yes on 2 and no on 5. :)
The problem is that everyone has ignored the underlying union problems for the last decade and even now that the shit is going to hit the fan, you still do not hear anything about any legislation to deal with the union stuff...instead everyone just complains about jobs going overseas...is it better to work for cheaper (aka fair market value) or to not work at all?

I would work for less to keep my job, the probem has been going on for so long, The queston would be for me and probably some others are my bills going to go down to reflect that i took lets say a $10 dollar an hour pay cut?

bills cant be paid making 0 either its a no win situation

i dont think people were voting to keep jennifer i think they voted to keep republicans out which is a very good thing! lesser of 2 evils. isnt that what people were saying about bush vs kerry

I'm sure she would pass out tax breaks like candy to companies that are considering building factories in Michigan. MI is hard hit because so many folks worked in manufacturing. My in-laws live in Grand Haven (near Muskegon) and that area has been brutalized by factory closings.

At one point wasn't Toyota considering a move to Detroit from CA?

Supposedly they were. I don't think they were ever serious. Michigan is a big labor state - I can't see the Japs building plants here.

LTHomer - I think you vastly overstate the significance of the union's impact on the Big Three. Don't get me wrong - the UAW and sadly devolved into a cancer of sort, but you can't forget about the massive impact of market share loss and the relentless increase in health care expenditures.

I'm Gonna fuck with my wife in the AM. Tell her 2 passed and she's fired i need someone else whole's better qualified. I had to take her on a technicality because she was Hungarian and minority gonna get me some applications for other women to fill out.
Man she's gonna kick my ass i can't wait

Sure that's exactly what was said about Bush vs Kerry.

Except Kerry couldn't keep the same answer twice to the same question. He flip flopped something hardcore.

Again, it's about the person, not the party.

Thanks to all the dumb fucking assholes that voted for that stupid bitch back in office, with your vote you have just helped sink Michigan into a bigger financial SHIT hole.:extra_vio :finger: :slap: :screwy: :flipa: :thumbsdow :loser: :arco:

You guys need to get into the healthcare field, theres always gonna be sick people.

Oh yeah and a big hell yeah on prop 2 passing, but i'm not extremely happy about granholm being back in, not sure if devos was going to be a major upgrade anyways.

I take comfort in the fact that 4 of the proposals went the way I voted. YYNYN.

Hunters are going to get fucked by PETA.
