Since Granholm is the projected winner...

Seriously how can someone vote for Granholm with Michigan having one of the worst economies while the US as a whole thrives...
 
Only 2% has reported in... lol... that's like projecting a baseball game in the first 5 minutes....
 
So far- so good... On prop 2.... 62% for banning affirmative action last time I heard.

Because michigan has its eggs in one basket called "manufacturing."

We are quickly becoming a nation of managers. We used to be a manufacturing powerhouse. Unfortuntly our unions and cost of living have priced us out of the market. Why pay someone $65K a year to put a wheel on a car when we can pay a family of 7 $3,000 a year in china.

Its a shame, Manufacturing won WWII.
 
There are many more problems, lot of which can not be fixed by a Governor...

My Dad's office did a study on adding another officer to Michigan. They found that:

- Median salary in Michigan is higher than any other state...

- The average skill level of said worker is below the national average...

- The tax benefits to a business are worse than almost every state...

So why would a business want to stay here or come here? That is one of the strong points about DeVos... he recognizes the need to make business happy to bring people here, bring in additional revenue by lowering the unemployment %

Although I'd never vote for Granholm, it's kind of hard to pin this on her. It's all about the auto industry, and she can't do much about it.

Propaganda or no, didn't one of the foreign auto (Honda I think) manufacturers come to Michigan, or at least try to?

You're right I am expecting her to do things she absolutely has no idea about...lol...wait a second...I'll pay for her ticket back to Canada!

Anyone would have been a step up from her, nevermind the fact that Devos actually knows the ropes in the business world.
 
That's a good point.

Another point people here have a hard time grasping it seems is what deficit MI was in when she took office after Engler left.

I had a friend of mine at work discuss why she voted no on Proposal 3. She thinks that they are harmless, etc. and they shouldn't be shot. The guy across from her, a hunter, mentioned that 80% of them die because of disease, etc. He also said they are good eating.

Shoot them, shoot them, shoot them. Not for nothing, they aren't exactly easy to hit...

I hope you know how kind hunters are. Not only the amount of money spent in MI, but the amount of food donated to shelters/soup kitchens here in MI. Why would you want to piss off a hunter?
