See...no big deal...

They are 4T65E's. I haven't heard anything bad about them. I work at the auto salvage and I haven't ever taken a call on one. I'm sure the smoke shows will stop when he gets used to it. :icon_mrgr

Very nice car but i don't think your head unit will fit in it so sell it to me.. i need a new one :D
It will fit, and NO to you. :D
As i stated already...way to finally wisen up. Sold the ford and bought a gm!! Car looks good!
I still bleed Ford blue, but like I told you last night, Ford doesn't make anything comparable.
Nice car, I'd have a hard time keeping that thing even remotely stock.
Yeah...I'm already thinking I went the wrong route since I said I was going to buy a DD and not mod it.

The smoke show last night was 100% intentional. :D

I love those cars but I think GM really fucked up on the door panels. Trade in the Ex or going to sell it outright?

Nice choice Al, those cars are sweet. The suede and leather interior is really sharp. White looks real good on that car.

Sweet...always liked those things! Talk to GTPprix for some modding advice if you want some. He's had 2 of those things, and both were VERY quick.

Nice ride Al.
I agree on the tint. You might find more attention to the tinted windshield in a car like that then your old man Explorer, just an FYI.

What kind of MPG does a 5.3l pig motor get in that thing?

Everything I read says 18/28...but I can't see me being able to keep my foot out of it, so who knows.

nice car, i have always liked them
Thanks.

Also, who's got the best price on wheel widening?

GM had the bright idea to put a 18"x8" wheel and 255 tire up front, and a 18"x7" and 225 tire out back. :shake: Most never notice this unless they were told in advance, but it's already driving me crazy and I need to fix this.

They did that for a reason...

Yeah, I read the reason and I can't see it making that much difference in cornering ability. I'm likely widening the rear wheels 1" and adding tires that match the front sizes after winter.

Just another wrong wheel drive, 4-door, grocery-getter.

Crappy quick pix taken with cell phone when I pulled in the garage tonight...

So there's the new family 4-door. It's a 2005 Grand Prix GXP with a 5.3l v8.

The good news:

With the traction control off it will roll a LOT of smoke off the front tires. Wifey was not pleased when she was in the car next to me and I took off on green.
The car is immaculate inside and out
GM Certified
325xx miles on the clock
12 month, 12000 mile bumper to bumper warranty
5 year (from original sale date) 100000 mile powertrain warranty
Loaded, every option

On the to-do list:
Open up the exhaust
Install my A/V stuff
HIDs
Peel the tint that's on there and have my buddy Chris re-tint the whole car including the windshield.
Lowering springs

Nice, nice car al. My cousin just sold his. From a 5 mph roll, that thing would BLOW the front tires off.

I'm sure GM did a little bit of engineering to determine that setup

Nice Al. That's on my list of cars to find and test drive as well.
