Roller hockey

Does anyone know of any places throughout metro detroit that has roller hockey leagues or drop ins? We used to have a decent rink down here in Toledo but it since has been closed. I grew up playing both ice and roller and was looking to get back into the roller thing.

Thanks!

High Velocity In canton.... 275 and Michigan ave might be easy for you to get to, Its only a few miles down Michigan ave

Thanks for the heads up, guys! I figured roller still was somewhat popular up your way. I'll check both out.

I play at Total Roller Hockey in Novi, and the JCC in West Bloomfield. Both are great rinks, though JCC is a little smaller. Reffing is infinitely better at JCC too. Total for some reason seems to attract all the douchebags though, I've almost never seen any trouble at JCC but you can't go a day at Total without seeing a near-benchclearing brawl.

JCC is way better than Total. Total is a sweat box in the summer...way too hot...cold as shit in the winter...a pole barn essentially. I would not go so far as to say the reffing is better at the JCC (I am friends with the guys at the JCC as well so if anything I would give them the benefit of the doubt). They put way too much emotion into the calls. Very sensitive...bitch one time about one call and you will be fucked for the remaining time you play in that league, rink, etc.

Also depends on the division you play in. Tin (pretty mild, talent low), Iron (A little choppy, mixed talent), copper (decent, but somewhat choppy, talent getting marginally better), Bronze (Better, more speed, talent is mid range and up), Silver (Fast paced, likely the best players in the area, cleaner play) 30+ open (slower, sometimes decent talent, choppy if you get a team of older guys that can't keep up)...Gold (this is a draft league so either you make it or you don't, talent rich, fast paced, short season)

What division(s) / team(s) are you on at the JCC?

Thanks for the info, guys. Are there any decent hockey stores around which cater to the inline crowd?

There's Peranis hockey world on 16 and van dyke in Sterling Heights. They have a few pair of inline skates and the rest of the equipment is is good for ice or roller. I used to play roller for years I got out of it I went to ice but I would love to go back.

Ice Holes, Bronze. Will I be playing you this season? We jump between Bronze and Silver depending on which of our roster can commit. Aside from the Gold draft league, Bronze is the highest this season. Lots of Silver guys are playing down.

We also play at TRH in Copper & Bronze but are skipping this season because we're sick of the reffing.

Lastly I sometimes sub as a ringer on a foil/tin team whenever they need me, known as the Money $hot$
