Relays for nitrous

I have a nos big shot plate system activated by the jeg's WOT switch setup on the carb. What is the best relay to use for this set up and can i just use one relay for both noids? or seperate?

I've been reading alot about using continuous duty solenoids in place of relays, just want some opinions that will work with my current switch setup

Thanks - Nick

i would recommend 1 relay for both noids. if you use 1 for each there is always a chance of 1 not coming on.ouch

so i got a few relays rollin around in my tool box. 20 amp bosch 5 pole, 30 amp 5 pole and a 4 pole 40 amp unit. Which one?

some of the solenoids are high amp i do it with 30 amp relays but use the relays to trigger another relay,i use a continuous duty relay like for snow plows this works great ,i copied this from pro mods.

Right i have seen this done too, but i was asking for my standard big shot set up which i doubt draws as much current as a pro mod's fogger system...am i right?

right, but there is alot of shitty relays on the market now(thanks china) so some 20 and 30 amp relays wont hold the solenoids open for an entire 1/4 mile.they overheat at the contacts on the inside. i had this problem on a big shot system with an R solenoid on the nitrous side about 900 feet out everytime .its ok if your just playing around but if you have a money race and the solenoid shuts the system off, well :scared: good bye money.i did mine this way even if its over kill, i know its on till i let off the button.

20amp is fine...

Slostang does not beleive so... haha, i know the whole continuous duty so9lenoid is the best route, but will and 20 or 30 amp bosch style relay do the trick? The car might see the track 5 times a year

i have just seen some cheap ass relays that couldnt handle anything close to what they were rated for.probably junk made in china

So out of pin 87 on my relay run it to the signal post on the continuous duty solenoid, and have a power into the solenoid and off the other post run it to my solenoids? Got a schematic?
