Yes, it is very nice. That is, it's nice to see there are still some real "car guys" out there who are willing to help someone who is in need. The kind of guys that WANT to help, and go out of their way to do something generous, while expecting nothing in return. That's what a "car club" is all about.

Then, there are the type who sit around miserable and jealous of those who may have something nice. The kind of person who expects something for nothing most of the time, too selfish to help another. Never willing to go out of the way for anybody, and always asking "what about me?".

So, what type of person are you? I hope neither you or anyone else never have to go through something like this, you may just find out who your friends really are. Luckily, I have a few good friends!

No problem. Like I said, I wasn't mad just a little disappointed someone would make a comment like that. It's often hard to get across the "emotion" of a post with the keyboard, and things just sound wrong when read sometimes. After reading enough posts on here you can get a good feel for how someone really is and you seem like a good dude, so I was a little thrown off by how that sounded. It's all good.

Back to some progress pictures! I stopped in to see Mike this weekend, and he was getting the rest of the sheetmetal finished up in color. Just a little more finish work/wheeling and we'll get this heap back home finally.

Back in the garage, the engine is torn down and degreased. I'm waiting for the crank to return from being checked so I can get to work on the short block. The new rods are much larger at the big end, and the block will need a little more clearance grinding in a few areas.

Thank you! The lower end of the engine hasn't been apart since it was in my old red coupe, probably 4 years ago. It didn't need any attention and everything appears normal, but I'm swapping out the Eagle h-beam rods for Bill Miller alluminum pieces. The pistons were a lightweight, naturally aspirated design and will be changed to a more "nitrous friendly" style. No other changes, just getting the short block ready for a much larger hit of spray. Plus, I need to repaint the block to better compliment the new color on the car :icon_mrgr
