quick ebay advice... like 30min

I do brokerage going into Canada and USA, as long as the buyer is paying the extra shipping its not difficult to ship to Canada.

When you ship it just make sure you have it set that the buyer pays any brokerage fees, duty or taxes that may apply. Brokerage is generally is $15-20 depending on the broker used.

Im more worried about getting burned on him making a paypal claim, and getting a refund after he gets the sticks.

I love hooking up the neighbors to the north, i ship lots of stuff there.

As long as you have your tracking number as proof you sent it, as far as paypal is concerned I don't think he would have a claim with you.

Lost or damaged thats a shipping insurance claim, I could be wrong tho? I've never had problems shipping to Canada but I know there is lots of scammers out there.

I work for UPS so you know what I am going to say already.....either UPS/Fed-ex will get the job done. I've had some bad experiences with USPS losing things going to Canada tho.

I will admit Fed-ex will be cheaper more than likely.

If you have 15 watchers it's a pretty good chance they'll go up at the end. My stuff usually goes up a good bit in the last 5 minutes or so.

Cost is not the factor of me making a decision for something like that.

OHHHHH boy last min,lol.

Ship them USPS. UPS and fedex have a surcharge going into canada. Just get a tube that they will fit in. Shouldn't be an issue. I sell on ebay daily and am happy to help if you have questions.

Only time I've ever had problems shipping to Canada was once when someone won a little dental device I had on there. Apparently the calculator didn't figure in the fact that this guy lived in a remote, BFE-part of canada, and it almost cost me as much as he paid to ship it. Ah well, got rid of it anyway.

As for one-time bidders, everyone starts out at 0.

I stopped selling on ebay because I will not accept paypal as a form of payment. Even if you ship it out, it's easy to get burned. Or at least it was a few years ago.

If a guy had 1 feedback I'd definitely be a little cautious and require that he mail me a money order.

I have only been burned once or twice with paypal but I probally have 10000 sucessful transactions. Most of the problems I have had with paypal are either unverified buyers or outside of Ebay. You can also just take a credit card directly with squareup or intuit.

Are there any ways I can prevent getting burned? I used to use ebay here and there back in the day... when did the fees get outrageous???

If you take paypal confirmed addresses and verified buyers keep you safe. If a guy disputes it with his credit card you can get screwed but it burns his use of paypal so it is a one time deal. There is also legal issues to scamming online as you have a name and address you can always call the cops. All this is a bit irrelevant as 99 times out of a 100 you will be fine. They want a product you have and dont want to screw that up for a few hundred dollars. As for the fees I figure 10-13 percent is fees and charges. Just a cost of business. The thing is you get a huge customer base. Also forgo you flat rate shipping. Ebay gets you on shipping too now. so 4-9 % of the shipping you charge goes to fees. plus another 3 if you take paypal. I add 5-15 dollars for handling on my transactions to cover packaging and fees. My other advise on you ad is more pictures. You have a good item to sell just wrong time of the year. I would try in august or september just my 2 cents. Oh and I still want a stick and some gloves :)

Not 100% true, Im going through this right now with the crank that got damaged, I stopped payment (seller only insured a 4340 crank for $200) and they did give me my money back but told me despite the damage if he can prove he shipped it he gets paid and I have to take it up with ups so they will take the money back from my account.......... On a side note paypay fucking sucks, this has been up for review for a month.

Well there is more to your story then a scammer. UPS screwed up and they suck at claims. Paypal is trying to let you guys work it out. Call paypal and ask what they are waiting for. Most people just let things lay thinking they are waiting for something. Paypal can be rushed easily by calliing them. Did you buy this on ebay? Why insure it for 200 is that what you paid? If paypal thinks you are getting paid by ups insurance they will do nothing and close the case. What ebay and paypal want is happy buyers. They could care less about the sellers unless they see scamming then they are on your side.

No I paid over 900 shipped for this and the customer has his ups money, Ive called paypay 5 times and they just keep telling me its up for review and there is no way ups will pay me as im not the shipper

Hmm that sounds like a mess. You got your money back already? How did you pay? Private seller or company? Ups will pay you if the seller signs off. They will only pay $200 though. If it was me I would call the seller and try to work it out. People tend to be reasonible when confronted on issues. Just be calm and hear him out. It is the sellers mess up for not insuring it. The thing about paypal and verified shipping is bullshit. Buyers can also dispute due to not as recieved. If it is from ebay you can return it no matter what!
