Project Ressurection

I'm gonna have Duke do it from Downriver Motorsports. We spoke already and has a good idea at what I need and how I would like it done. If Something comes up with his schedule, I will get ahold of him.

Went with the ARC 8000d controller for the wiring to try and simplify that process. I have the radiator installed along with the starter. Need to finish wiring those two items and then its the MSD 6010. Then gauges and lights. Making progress slowly but surely.

What headers did you end up getting ?? Did they clear the steering shaft ? Does your motor and trans seem like it sits to high up ???? Got any pics yet ?

Do you know if Dave had a transmission on the back of the motor when he mocked up the new LS k-member ??.......So far a t56 and a 4l60 won't fit......Guys have to cut the motor mounts off and lower the motor about 2 inches and there moving the motor back towards the firewall......

Not sure why he has the motor sitting so high up.....Does yours look like this ??

Also the motor sits to far forward....maybe he did this so that the steering shaft clears the Dynotech headers ??...Does your look like this ??

Dave had my Th-350 for mock up when he was doing my car. I bought the Dynatech Headers and they fit like a glove. I had to push the steering shaft towards the firewall about an inch for the top knuckle on the Flaming river shaft wouldn't hit the headers but that was it. My motor with the victor Jr. and Pro-Systems carb will still fit under a stock hood if I had one. I can snap some photos and text them to you if you would like...I don't think my motor sits up as high as the one you have pictured. I could be wrong but I can take some photos if you would like.

I'm guessing the case on the 4l60e and a t56 must be bigger ??? guys have to cut the motor mounts off so they can lower the motor about 2 inches.....

So the motor has to be that high so the steering shaft clears the headers....right ?.......This means that the guys that are cutting the motor mounts off so they can lower the motor are not going to be able to use conversion headers....big bummer......but the turbo guys might get lucky.....and the guys using th350 trans.....yes lots of pictures please.......Also do you know if the case on a th400 is as big or bigger then a 4l60e ?

So this is your car at Daves shop with the f-body oil pan and Dynatech conversion headers ???

One of the guys call team z and this is what was said.....

I called and asked dave jr about fitment issues with a 4l60 he said "it should fit".

The guy with the 4l60 trans said that after reshaping and cutting the trans tunnel to get the trans to fit....that the driveshaft yoke will hit the trans tunnel when spinning....

Sounds like the motor is also at the wrong angle ??.........in this pic you can also see that the motor is to far forward..
