Well, picked up my interior parts today. Bought everything from the headliner to seats and console. I wil be restoring all the plastics and interior peices over the holidays hopefully. Anyone have any good tips on painting the plastics and trim? I have heard CJ pony parts sells plastic interior paint, anyone ever used it before? Thanks, pics WITH flash will be added in a couple of days for you greedy bitches as well. LOL

I just did some white to black plastics and the key was some "plastic prep" I had bought from NPD part no. SEM 38353. The grains of the plastic are still there and the paint adhered perfect. I have struggled before but this is the ticket. Dont sand the plastics either. I believe the plastic paint is lacquer which will work fine.

I've had significantly better luck with painting interior pieces with a spray gun vs. a rattle can. I just washed my plastics with 91% isopropyl alcohol, used a red scotchbrite to lightly dull the edges on any scratches, and used SEM Color Coat elastomeric paint sprayed from a spray gun. Can't even tell it's not factory. I've heard plastic prep works really well too.

Thanks for the tips fellas. I will probably use the plastic prep and lacquer to paint it with.If it doesnt turn out well I have a friend that can spray them.

Picked up a Team Z K Member today, looks like a nice piece. I will try and have pics of it installed in a week or two.
