Possible 2012 COPO CAMARO

about time!..
that blown 5.3 looks pretty nasty

I dont get it...you have alot of better starting points, a SC 5.3 seems like it would be last. Maybe a de-stroked NA one that would rev to the moon, but this just seems like a waste. Aside from the normal LSx stuff a direct injection twin turbo V6 would be badass...

I agree, but look at the details..the 5.3 is LSX block based..who knows what kinda crazy bore/stroke itll run..also a few engine options..the LS7 was a no branier, but im thinkin they wont just toss in a truck 5.3 with a whipple (2.9l btw) in a COPO car..i bet that 5.3 is gonna be rediculous

i talked with Jim Campbell: GM. Vice President, Performance Vehicles about 2 months ago.. and he confirmed there was a camaro in the works to go after the cobra jet. but was still in development but it would happen..i assumed it would have a combo like the ZL1 either a LSA or LS9..but an N/A motor combo with the 7.0 was an obvious choice..im alil shocked at first to see a 5.3 combo..but noticing its an LSX block i have to agree ..im sure they have a high rpm bore/stroke combo thats gonna make some power..hell if there makin 1200hp out of a stock 4.8 an lsx 5.3 sould be intersting to see what they have going on

im kinda curious with there step back in to indy car this next season what there gonna start doing with the tt v6..he said they wanted to go after the eco boost also..so indy should help develop a killer v6

off subject but they have no intent in going after the Raptor..which was sad to hear i think its a killer setup/idea and would love to see the market grow..and i would buy a gm version in a heartbeat..looks like ford got that on lock..i hope they keep it..he did poke fun at the frame alil tho which was funny

LS7 heads on that 5.3l too. Did you guys see the cam for it? 244°/255°@.050" hydraulic roller. In a boosted 327ci motor that thing should spin pretty high. Also 10.2:1 compression. Sounds like a pretty stout little blower motor.

The 5.3 should be rediculous, it's aimed at running the AA/SS classification.... 9.70 Index

The current record is:

SS/AA 8.52 159.25 09/11/10 Randy Hopkins - Scandia, MN '10 Ford
