Patriot Performance?

Does anybody know about patriot performance cylinder heads? Was thinking about putting them on my 2002 Mustang GT 4.6L

I did a search of them recently and couldn't find any solid reviews. I was reading on one forum this guy loved them, but then was owned by some dude who built some N/A 4.6L that ran an 11.46 in the 1/4 mile saying that he wouldn't trust their quality. And then later on the guy who loved the PP cylinder heads credibility was further bashed when he didnt know the difference between a push rod and overhead cam engine. It was a pretty good read....haha, but, those posts were from several years ago.

and as far as I have been able to find out, they use stock PI heads for the 4.6L and just port them, do a valve job, add larger valves and valve springs that can handle .600" lift cams. I dont see how you could possibly screw that up.

trick flow wants close to $2k for their heads, and it seems like they come ready to port and polish or would require more work? im not sure.

If anyone has input about this, let me know.

Cylinder heads are like torque converters, you get what you pay for. Why try to get a set of patriots and deal with the headache of trying to make real power with a non proven head? Get the Trick Flows. It is not easy being n/a with a 4.6.

If your gonna do all that work you would be better off doing a 4v conversion. N/A mod motors are expensive and thet don't like weight either. If u wanted to keep it a reliable 2v the put a turbo or blower on it an drive it to Florida and back with 400whp on pump gas. All while still getting descent mpg

hmmm......starting to sound like a decent idea.

i've been wanting to keep it N/A (my goal was 300rwhp n/a)....but if I am going to spend $2k on cylinder heads, may just be better to save a little more and buy a vortech or soemthing. always a possibility.....

That would work too. I have a 2003 Mach 1 and it runs good for stock but if I got serious about making it go faster a blower would be my choice just because the heads would not have to come off lol!!!

300 should be doable but you'll need more than heads. I have some Patriot heads and they do work but you'll need a cool intake (Bullitt) and they get pricey. MM & FF or Superford did a series of articles written by Richard Holdener (sp) maximizing the NA two valve.

The way my 2V sits now I'm making over 600 rwhp but I threw the moon at it ( stroker, goodies, goodies, 2.6 KB, more goodies). But that's double the power and WAY more than you want/need to spend. Keep looking around and reading up on it. Good luck! :)

set of ported B heads off corral 500-800 depending on whats done to them, short runner intake 400-600, shouldnt have to much problem making 300rwp n/a with that setup.

I have just about all the bolt ons you can get, minus LT headers. Put some VT stage II N/A cams in there myself with a .550" lift. She made -if i remember correctly- 276rwhp and 291lb-ft I should be able to get over 300rwhp with LTs and cylinder heads.....or at least i'd hope so....

sounds like your car is a beast. which cylinder heads did you go with exactly? were they exact bolt ons or did they require a lot more work?

I read that the Patriot Performance stage II cylinder heads will mate up with the stock intake manifold perfectly.

I don't think i'll do a 4V conversion because I have been pretty happy with my VT 2v cams I put in there. I want to try and just take steps forward, not a step back, then try and take steps forward....4v heads and cams, plus intake manifold and whatever other hardware I would need would be a crazy project.
