Parrots ?

Have fun when it bites you. My Mother in Laws Cockatoo bit through my thumbnail and drew blood. It could have been FAR worse.
 
When I was a kid, my dad had a very noisey parrot...a smaller green one. I dont recall what type it was, but there were always shoes flying in its general direction :lol:.
 
My old roommate had a conure. MEAN ass bird! It was loud as hell and could not talk.

I have a friend who has an African gray. He is really cool. I like birds, but they are too noisy for my tastes.

Please do more research than asking here. Birds can be quite expensive, messy and live a long time. That is one of the reasons why so many are in rescues. People don't know what they are getting themselves into before they get one.

I came so close to getting one of those. Met one at the mall petstore and it was the coolest bird. Walked right up my arm and snuggled against my cheek & neck. Responded to us when we talked to it. Definitely did NOT want to be put back down. It really liked being held.

They are a cool bird. Do your research and go see some. Talk to the pestores. There is one on M-59 in White Lake that specializes in birds and gave us a ton of good info.

That is cool. I may still get one someday. Just don't have enough time for one now. It would be cool to go cruising and take the little guy along. Then it can sit on my shoulder when hanging out on WW & BSing with everyone. Pirate style. :lol:
 
dont do it... a friend of mines bird would start yelling "shut the fuck up bird... shut the fuck up" at 6am every morning

I am still trying to figure out if i want to do this or not, i think it would be lots of fun, if worse comes to worse i will give it to my grandma she loves birds.
 
Yellow Nape Amazons are very smart cool birds. If you can't give them attention like a 3-5 year old kid your not going to be giving the bird what they like. This is Chico, I miss him.

I had a Yellow Naped Amazon for a few years and then one day it snapped. It would attack anyone that it could. It bit my girlfriend and bruised her hand pretty bad.
The birds pupils would get small and then large and then small and then large. It was crazy.
 
My girl friend has a Gold Capped Conure (just like the pic) that clearly hates me and I can't stand him... They get attached to one person, very dirty, very noisy.. If he's sitting on his perch and the g/f leaves the room, he'll scream bloody murder. It's like he's got separation anxiety disorder! He'll lunges at me when I walk by him and even acts like a Kami kazi pilot when friends come over.
Parrots need DAILY cleaning up after them... They'll shit every were and chew and spit there seeds all over the floor. Think long and hard before getting one.

My buddies dad used to have a big ass one, I loved watching sitcoms with the bird in the room because it would repeat all the funny sayings and start cracking up after wards, it would also yell " BAI BAI" when you would go out the door.
 
Do not get a sun conure! I had one it was so god dam loud and would kill your ears. He hated anytime I showed my nape attention but he would not have anything to do with a hand. That one ended up at a rescue as I tried for 3 years to get it hand tamed without positive results.

My nape on the other hand was bought as an egg from a breeder (no guarantees) and was hatched in an incubator. Chico only ever knew human contact and was just great.
