The game was lost because of two things, coaching and the punter. The most important was coaching! They were in a spread punt coverage and should have been in max protect. Two the punter should have just ran it or dove on the ground (which is also coaching). I was a high school punter and I did this every time something got botched with the snap! However, I was a punter much longer than the Michigan punter has been (middle school and all four years of high school) so this was taught to me at a very young age.

officiating was bad, on both sides. Not everything you think you see are what really happened and conversely, just because you see it and it may be a call doesn't mean it gets called every time. The frustrating part is when the calls that are bad greatly affect the game. The first TD, WAS a TD. Whether the second or third one was is irrelevant. The Targeting call was complete BS and greatly impacted the game. The Late hit on Henry was a very bad call that led to an MSU TD. We can talk missed calls all day (Like the hold/bear hug/tackle that happened on MSU's first TD that wasn't called). But what we can discuss are the ones that were called and called wrong and completely changed the game. With that in mind, here's a write up on the calls that affected the Michigan side. Some were good some were bad. It's a good read and definitely shows how the game was affected dramatically by officiating.

As an aside, it appears based on the tiebreakers that Michigan is still very much a candidate to go to the B1G Championship game.

Look, Dantonio makes mistakes. The messiah will make mistakes. This was a big one. You don't think the MSU coaches shouldn't have come up with a
better plan than trying to run on first down? After 3 quarters, why run? I've complained about the conservative play calling many times. Harbaugh will
make many mistakes during is 2-3 years at Michigan. They will happen. Denying mistakes will happen is foolish.

The game next year will come down to quarterback play. Both teams will have QB's with limited experience.
 
i still think if he catches the snap cleanly he gets the punt off, max protect or not. with that being said, they should have been in max protect on that final play. can't we just agree that it was a very good game between two very good teams?

It's literally the "if there's one thing you can't do" form of "celebration"

If I'm the coach... He runs an extra 10 miles every single day all week...or he sits out. His choice.

As far as the threats against O'Neal... those people are trash and a disgrace to the fan base

Who says we can't agree on something? I agree on both! I hope Dantonio sees the throat slashing in the film...
 
MSU should move up 1 spot. Utah lost to USC 42-24...

Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, TCU and Baylor will be playing each other. And Baylor lost their QB...

Honestly, this is the moment I have been afraid of. When they finally figured out that Jones basically got very lucky/hot and the team was just clicking during their playoff run. JT was money all season long and is the smarter QB.
