gotta love msu fans. today i'm up in st. johns, at the big cider mill with the family. at my daughters' urging, (their gifts), i've got my um hat and pullover on. ya' gotta know this is in the heart of msu country. wouldn't ya' know, a group of about 10 msu students start talking big 10 football. they're almost pitying me, assuming i'm a um slappie. not so fast, i tell 'em, here's some Kryptonite for ya's. quickly displaying my OSU logo'd debit card, i explain the um mix-up. they quiet down considerably. we agree that osu not being on the schedule is a huge relief for them, and also agree that it could have been the best msu-osu matchup in decades. we part with a mutual good luck, beat iowa, and an epic parting shot from one of the kids....."hey buckeye, don't be too hard on our little brother down in the 'shoe this year, huh???.....:lol:....no shit.....i laughed for 10 minutes...

Jim, I hate to say it, but if State beats Iowa next week, I'll be Michigan's biggest fan. I'm looking for Wisconsin logos to praise every night. I'll have to pull for Iowa too. If Iowa & Michigan beat OSU, it makes MSU's strength of schedule stronger. Notre Dame needs to win out as well. I'll be staying up late next week watching the USC/Oregon game. Go Nebraska!

it's easy to see your logic here. it's gonna be interesting to see how it plays out. ya gotta admit though, that was some funny shit today. the students were pretty damn cool. they have a decent amount of respect for osu, but they def. don't like um. there's way more dislike there than you see from the average osu fan....lmao at the "little brother" jab.......

I have a healthy respect for OSU. There was never the hatred for OSU. It's always been Notre Dame & Michigan. Not that we weren't happy to beat OSU, but if we lost, everyone just shrugged their shoulders. Lose to Michigan, even during the Muddy Waters disaster and going 2-9, we'd be pissed losing to UM, even if we knew there was no way we were going to win.

i don't see a problem with penn state this year. iowa is the only potential pitfall....

Nebraska has been real shaky at home compared to on the road. They looked unstoppable on offense and looked like no passing offense in the world could do much against them at Washington. They shut down a top running back on the road at K state and the offense again looked unstoppable while people started talking about a Freshman for Heisman. They throw 5 TD passes against Ok State and the offense again looks unstoppable.
The recent home games, they only managed 17 points against South Dakota State and they dropped more passes than they caught while scoring 13 in the loss to Texas. I think the Nebraska fans need to wear black and gold this weekend and make lots of noise while the offense is on the field.
