All I can do is keep my fingers crossed. The silly thing about the BCS (and the computer rankings) is that they still look at teams you played. Based on this, I need to pull for Wisconsin, Notre Dame and Michigan. Seriously, I need to wait until MSU actually beats Iowa before I'll openly wish victories on Michigan or Notre Dame.
But this also holds true with the other listed teams. From now on, I hope Va Tech and Oregon State lose every game. I have just become Arizona's and USC's biggest fan (unless they lose to Oregon). I've had passive interest in Missouri since I lived in St. Louis for a year. I need every SEC team to go 4-4 in conference. I need MSU to beat Iowa, and then in some warped way hope everyone they played does well the rest of the way (unless they play someone else who will give Sparty more BCS points).
This truely is a fucked up system and I wish they'd just go to a 16 team playoff. While under no delusions that MSU would win that type of tournament this year, a real champ would have earned that crystal football. No arguements about schedule, no screaming about undefeated teams being ranked 3rd in the polls and no worries about non-AQ teams. Use the current BCS rankings to #16. I'd rather hear (and ignore) screaming from Florida State moaning how they are a better team than Texas at #16 & #17 than having the potentially best team being ranked 6th because of an early season loss (Alabama --- Damn, did I say that?). If MSU is good enough, they get in and if not they don't.
