Official 2010 Michigan State Football thread

I was there and let me tell you
That was an AMAZING call

If it didn't work they'd be in the middle of a shit storm today. It really was a good call though, that was going to be a hard kick being in the elements and that ball wasn't going to travel good in the cold air.

It was a bit of a shock to read about the heart attack today. I'm glad this was extremely mild and he'll be OK. Hopefully the couple weeks he's out that Treadwell will open up the offense a little bit, especially against Wisconsin. I guess the fans weren't the only ones to have a coronary with that call. I hope he recovers quickly and my best wishes are with him and his family.

By the way, the Spartans are #25 in the AP poll and #23 in the Coaches poll. That makes 6 Big Ten teams in the Top 25 and another (Northwestern) getting votes.

Outside of OSU has anyone in the Big Ten played anyone? It's starting to look like the SEC around here.

Well Illinois played Missouri, PSU played Alabama and Iowa played Arizona...

Wisconsin played ASU and ASU is a decent team. Minnesota was actually beating USC in the 3rd quarter before falling apart. In otherwords, no they haven't. But neither have half the schools out there. And honestly, UM and MSU shouldn't be ranked just because they beat Notre Dame. Other than Denard Robinson and the MSU running backs, neither team has been consistant on offense and the defenses have been less than impressive, especially the secondaries.

the big 10 needs another good showing in the bowl games this year. i'm hoping um and msu get ino a decent bowl game and do well. whether it's osu, or whomever, the league needs a signature win over a top 5 team.....or should i say especially osu.....:icon_wink

Jim, in all honesty, the only Big Ten team that will be playing a Top 5 team at the end of the year will be Ohio St. While Iowa and Wisconsin are both good, solid teams, neither will be playing for one of the big bowls. Too many other good teams and that includes Boise St and TCU. What I wouldn't give to see TCU play Texas...

And there is a noticeable drop from Iowa & UW. I'll admit MSU isn't there yet. I think Michigan is still a couple years away, and Northwestern isn't there.

It was all a matter of time before another Sparty went to jail. Say what you want about U of M but they don't hold a candle to thieves in East Lansing (home of the student riots).

So far, no charges filed. Big difference between stealing and possession of stolen property. MSU hasn't played Sims all year and he's currently under suspension. At least know one tried to blow him up or his dormatory.

Every school has problems, even Michigan U. And there has been enough problems in Ann Arbor to fill their own blotter. Where is your starting cornerback from last year? Not only did Boubacar Cissoko get 19 mo to 15 years for theft and robbery, he also assaulted three jail employees while he was awaiting sentencing. It amazes me how much the MU guys like to throw stone from inside their glass (big) house.

EDIT: Sims was charged this afternoon.

I must say that was a great call at the end of the Notre Dame game. But I will still say that both MSU and U of M look like hell. The real test for both of these teams isn't going to be until October 9th.

Not for MSU. They play Wisconsin on Oct. 2nd.

MSU enjoyed their cupcake, 45-7. Sparty was up 35-0 at the half and 42-0 in the third quarter. I think Dantonio had a stress free day watching the game on TV. On to Wisconsin.

MSU 34, Wisconsin 24! 5-0 going to Ann Arbor. If the defense plays like it did today, they'll come back from Ann Arbor 6-0.
