Official 2010 Michigan State Football thread

What's it like being an old man obsessed with 19 year old black kids?

Is that all you got? I went to MSU, and I like football. Enjoy your 5-7 football team.

Conroy still perfect. MSU 34, UM 17

I didn't go to either, and even if I did, since I'm not ON the football team, it wouldn't be MY team.

Whatever. Have a problem, look at the scoreboard.

Moneypit, they couldn't beat Illinois or Purdue last year. The only reason they may beat Purdue is all of there players are out for the year.

I swear to God if I see this damn Nissan Juke commercial one more time I'm going to kill a kitten.

Three in a row, 34-17. Iowa looks like the only team to worry about the rest of the way. I hope Iowa takes out OSU...

By the way, the Spartans are Bowl eigible at 6-0.

If MSU can work past the emotional letdown and take care of business against Illinois, they will be 7-0 for the first time since the 1966 National Championship team. And if they can complete the 'Land of Lincoln' daily double, they'll go into Iowa 8-0. Keeping the focus is the challenge now.

I hears sportscaster say that MSU proved it was the best team in the state for the third year in a row. How soon they forget Central Michigan running the table in the State of Michigan last season;

Central beat MSU 29-27 @ MSU
Central beat EMU 56-8 @ CMU
Central beat WMU 34-23 @ WMU

i like their chances too. don't sweat the haters in here bro, it's just the usual sour grapes kool-aid they've been drinking. that sucking sound you're hearing is um's season starting to circle the bowl again....

And you won't find me arguing that point. Central Michigan WAS the best team in the state in 2009. I think he was speaking about just UM-MSU. I heard that too and heard the howling from Mt Pleasant all the way down here.

I'm not worried Jim. It's expected. It's a rivalry and I'd be bummed/pissed if MSU had lost that game too. Or as Michael Rosenberg stated in the Detroit Free Press, 'Michigan State beating Michigan is now the expected result'. MSU has the second best recruiting class beghind the Bucks this year according to Rivals and ESPN. If Dantonio and his staff keep up the good recruiting work, this may be MSU's second Golden Age. I hoped it would happen under Saban, but if we had to wait the extra 10 years, so be it. While I know it won't happen, a great NC game would be OSU/MSU :)

After the last two games with Coach Dantonio off the sidelines just having him at this game must have been big emotionally.
I have to wonder why Vegas had U M favored by 4 1/2 to begin with?

home field advantage is the reason. Look at how loud the stadium was at the start of the game and the bad snaps because of it.
