Nokooler's Foxbody

"New" 302 is in the garage. 97 Mountaineer, gt40p heads ... upper intake was recently replaced before the vehicle was wrecked.

Took off the upper/lower with my buddy last night, fuel rails etc... I cannot get the clutch fan off, supposedly you need a special tool(saw jaw?). 2 broken bolts, 1 valve cover(broke flush with the head, and a manifold bolt the I should be able to get out with vice grips.

302 Is almost torn down, gt40p's are taken off... going to Engines r us tomorrow in mtpleast for inspection and cleaning... then resell... motown gets a better deal than craigslist.

On a side note, How many times have you said, on a week night have you had friends come over and stay the night, after a long night to get the car/engine prepped. staying up late tonight, and my 1 friend bailed lol!

So, this is weird and dumb... I wil edit in a picture later, but how does this little 302 propel me into the mid 13's with little mods... I mean, its my first car, I am setting aside the thing I am pro of and replacing it due to money...

Even with its grinding noise it ran 13.20s without hesitation and hassle. It'll be a 331, next fall.... Though this new engine is spirited by myself, the best brother I can ask for and a fellow close friend who recently passed away. A lot of heart is going into this, and I don't want to be disappointed ... aka 12.50w with 4.10s

I am having the new block degreased, and honed.

New bearings + cam bearings. Money tree is shook...

next year this will breath some life

I'll upload some photo's tomorrow. Cheap kings bearings for the mains/rods, I had the mains torqued and went to torque the rods with my new wrench. Broke a rod bolt .... going to get it repaired tomorrow. If it works, I'll slap it together and she what she does at Tooslo's dyno later this month. If all else fails, I'm thinking 4.8 turbo or somebody else's 302w.

These are from earlier this month. Got the kings rod/mains bearings in. F303, comp timing chain are in. Picking up an oil pump, pickup, pan gasket from summit.

302 should be in the engine bay tomorrow.... probably gonna jack it up throw the t5/driveshaft in. Then i will install the heads and intake... hopefully I can finish up mid week and hear it run :D.

Then 4.10gears and rebuilt diff :D.

Ill upload the rest of my photo's tonight. Timing is set at 22* or 23*, car idle's and revs amazing now.
Needs radiator/hoses, power steering rack bolted back on, fluids - oil and dipstick.

Small update and rundown on my Fox. I've taken a 97 302W, installed cheap kings rod/main bearings, put on my gt40p heads, Trickflow track heat intake, LT's and an F303cam. The 8.8 has 3.27 gears, it has bested [email protected] with a 1.9 60ft(spinning through first).

I'm still ify on how I feel about it, i have a rebuild TracLok and 4.10''s to install as well.

Well I've been fighting a cooling issue since I got the car online. My overflow tank was second hand, I never thought to look at it before filling it with coolant. It had dirt in it ... It's clogged my radiator 3 times, the day after my last post I noticed this... I ended up taking the GTP to the track that day.

I tore this b!tch down again, cleaned the radiator out with water and shoved water into the block till it came clean. It's been fine for 200 miles so far. I got out to the track this past weekend, only having 10 runs with slicks I was learning how to launch. The third pass in a lot of smoke came from my engine bay, the lower intake gasket either got sucked in or its just leaking bad now. I'll have a fel-pro 1250 coming for it this week.

I only managed a terrible 2.0 60ft - 13.2@107mph. That was the first video, it went down hill from there.

At this point, I'm not sure if I want to get into a 94/95 body style Mustang, or buy a roller and do an lsx turbo. Part of me still wants to keep the Fox, I know every nut/bolt now and I've already gotten this far... I assume buying a ring and looking at houses next year will only slow the process down.
