No talk of the 2015 Mustang on Motown Mustang?

From all the reading I've been doing, it sounds like the 2.3 will be an upgrade from the standard v-6. It also sounds like all the performance braking and suspension stuff will be available as options with all engines.

Yeah, it sounds like the engine lineup and how they intend to market them parallels the Fusion.

2.5 = 3.7
1.6 turbo = 2.3 turbo
2.0 turbo = 5.0

If people embrace the 2.3, I think the car will do really well.

I'm very curious to drive the 2.3L, but it's not something I could really envision myself buying.

Found this over on svtperformance. Not a red car fan but this looks good.

Here is my take on the 2015 Mustang launch

BOOOOOOOO! Lol. Don't you know this is Motown Mustangs! Don't you blaspheme in here!

Honestly, I listened to your assessment and I think it's easy to poke holes in the design when you dissect it piece by piece. But that's not fair. All details have to balance together and create the overall new design. I'm sure the designers (very qualified ones at that) worked tirelessly on finding that balance. It's a complex process with sometimes a complex result. I'm always willing to let it soak in a bit. Of course I'm a fan so I WANT to like it but ultimately if its not good I won't even buy it. I'll agree that some areas make me uncomfortable but that can happen with something shockingly new. I can tell you that I've looked at pictures all day of the car and its already making the S197 look dated. I went through a similar warming up period with the new Stingray. Now I thinks it's gorgeous and hands above the previous. I think this new Stang will be the same. Of course I could be completely full of shit. :)

I like the low turntable shot you posted. Yes it makes the nose look very long. Like 1970 Mach I long. I love that car. Thanks for posting.

Probably as good as all the current mustangs do with Jurassic park explorer axles in them...

The mondeo doesn't come with an 8.8 center section either

I wasn't even talking about from the perspective of the differential. It's a suspension that was designed to only be drive wheels as the secondary axle in a FWD based car. At most that is managing half the torque from a V6 and it is probably actually limited to something more like 1500 Nm. The 5.0 in the current cars makes 528 Nm multiplied by the trans and diff ratios. You're no w looking at putting something like 8000 Nm through it. I'm just saying that could present a challenge in tuning a car to get off the line without major wheel hop, etc. From outside it appears that the advance design work was done by Europe and I just hope the American development team was able to overcome any challenges brought on by the design to make sure the Mustang can keep being something the American Mustang enthusiast buyers want and can modify to suit their needs.

This should not be read as, OMG, IRS, the Mustang is ruined. I think it should have IRS. I just hope it is a system that actually works well in all the uses of a Mustang. Especially an SVT version where that 8000 NM turns into 12000 Nm, approaching an order of magnitude more than you're getting at the back of an AWD Fusion.

Surprised everyone has been hating on the red. I think it looks nice in red.

I'm just surprised by those that don't like it, looks good to me in every color I've seen. It certainly isn't as revolutionary as I thought it was going to be, but I think they did a great job modernizing it. Looks like a great package now that it has a real chassis to play with.

I would own a GT500 version of this before I ever bought a C7z - I prefer my cars to not look like skrillex designed them on meth. Nice job J Mays, enjoy retirement!

FWIW, though they share common architectures which you will see across all Ford brands, the subframe was designed in house, in Dearborn and specifically for a Mustang.

Finally some people who aren't fazed by the mustang name. I love them and have wanted one forever. This 2015 looks like a bunch of junk though. Kind of wondering how long this look will stay in play.

Promises of an "OEM first" special feature has had people guessing. Sounds like the word on the street is factory line lock or "burnout control". This makes me happy! A cool acknowledgement to us drag racers.

Do it Ford!

I read this today and thought that's pretty sweet.

It might also be their way of saying..."don't be afraid of the IRS, drag racers, it'll hold up fine".

By IRS I mean independent rear suspension, not Internal Revenue Service LOL!

That would be completely bad ass.

I am in the same boat. I have wanted one forever and now I am thinking I need to buy one this yr. Ford is killing me with these new models. Had to buy the 2012 escape because the 13's are ugly and now the mustang. Dang
