Still runs from a rolling start, and in revised form with their "top" test driver, cannot best the ZR1..

7:26.7 << GT-R (Professional driver)
7:26.4 << ZR1 (Engineer)

Nissan wasn't able to best the Corvette ZR1's 7:26.4 Nurburgring lap time, but Godzilla did bring the hurt with a lap time of 7:26.7 run on April 23, 2009. Now we've now got in-car video proof.

Nissan's Chief test driver, Toshio Suzuki hopped behind the wheel of the revised 2010 GT-R in an attempt to shave an additional 3 seconds off the previous 7 minute 29 second lap time. He accomplished his goal — but in the grand scheme of things, who cares if he didn't beat the competition?

I just wish they'd make their passes from a dig...

Also - they didn't use the same start/stop location either... hrm..

You all realize that the first released cars were reflashed so that they launch slightly slower so the driveline doesn't have the shock of LC.

That is impressive that a $70k car is .3 seconds behind a $100k car.

Yes, but that $70k car cannot run as fast as that ZR1 until you decide to void the warranty :D While the ZR1 can still get warranty service done on it afterwords ;)

Did the Vette also have a rollign start to achieve those numbers?......

I would prefer the Vette....thanks!

If I'm not mistaken, they always use rolling starts at the 'Ring. Nice car but for $70k I much rather have a Z06 that I could beat on without worrying about my warranty and having to replace a $20,000 transmission. I'm waiting for a ZR1 run with cup tires similar to the GT-R's and then I'm sure that the distance between the two would widen even more.
