C&D warns about brakes on 370Z

Different tracks take different tolls on braking system components but what I find hard to believe is that there was no indication of a problem the turn before? I'm not taking nissan's side or anything but how much of a newb are you to run consecutive balls out laps on stock brakes, not notice any decrease in brake performance (overheat), and then blow a corner and almost kill yourself??

Errrr need more data...

I think that was exactly what car and driver was complaining about, no warning.

Take a look at the chart in the upper right

I think that is the best representation of what happened. You are used to using a certain amount of brake force into a corner...that force skyrocketed without much of a warning.

AMEN,

Something doesn't stack up
Fluid doesn't just spontaneously start boiling...

You start feeling fade and a squishy pedal for a bit...
If your bold oyu slow down and stay out...otherwise if your like me you get you @$$ in and see what the deal is....
Personally I think there UGLY as SIN...

Never had the probelm in my 370 but hey maybe the NISMO is THAT much worse then a sport?? At this point I am glad I don't have one...

I see that. What is staggering is how fast the brakes went away once it reached a certain temp. I'm sorry but if it were me, driving something with production brakes, no cage and a seatbelt, I might be anticipating some level of decreased brake performance by balls out lap 4 and planning my drive off procedures. No biggie, they only teach you that in HPDE1...

It would be interesting to see data collected while on track and look at the braking g's in the corners leading up to the accident and compare them with the first few laps. That would indicate decreasing performance and tell more of the story. How do we know the guy didn't blow the corner because he missed his braking point trying for a super fast lap?

errr still need more data
