it is hard to watch warning

OMG that is unreal. I wonder if he was knocked out by the explosion because obviously the chutes never deployed, but it doesn't even look like the car slowed down at all before the wall. Seems like he was never even on the brakes.

Godspeed :cry5:

That's what I saw too. He wasn't scrubbing any speed off or hopping it around on the brakes.
I think he may have been incapacitated by the initial explosion.
RIP.

exposion could have cut the brake lines too. or broke the handle. its gonna be hard to tell because he hit the wall after so its gonna destroy alot of the evidence. with all the sensors they have on those cars i wonder if they have a sensor when he hit the brakes or if they could tell by some type of device if he was awake before it hit.

All that's true. God knows he didn't have much time to do much of anything.

he probably didnt even see the end of the track if he was awake. with all the fire in front of him. thats what sucks about funny cars. i would think id be closterphobic inside one. they are tight and your covered all around with a bomb in between your legs. would be a hell of a ride.

Terrible. I definitely believe he was probably unconscious from the initial hit or encountered an insurmountable equipment failure. Nobody could have survived that hit.

May he rest in peace. A sad day for racing.

I delivered a machine to Kalitta Air a few years back, and it was Scott that after over hearing me say to a guy that I was into drag racing, took me around the shop, let me sit in Doug's car, and Shirly's car because it was also there, then gave me a box full of used and signed pistons, rods, pictures.

Scott would will call me a couple times a month to get things for both the shop and himself because I could get them deals nobody else could, I looked at it as I was helping out the team and Scott and didn't bother me one bit, I liked doing it, it kind of made me feel like part of team, Scott knew he himself didn't have to call to get the deals because I would have given it to any of them, but he did it because we clicked and didn't want me to feel like he was putting me out by having someone else call, so he did it himself.

I can't stop the tears as they roll down my face because this man truley touched anyone that came in contact with him :(

Thank you Scott for the time you took to spend with me, and the laughs we shared, I will never forget it

RIP

Greg
