Rodrigues said:The rotary phase converters seems to emulate the 3rd phase pretty well. The only problem I've had was running two 3 phase machines on the same converter. The static phase converters are just a bandaid because they will net a 33% loss from 3 phase because your still running on 2 phase with a missing 120 degree leg. All those things do is jump start the motor with some capacitor circuitry.
