New project Malibu

Looks great man, that's going to be a really neat car.

Do you think that DD accessory setup would work without a power steering pump?

I would think you could use the DD setup without the PS pump but that would be pretty expensive just for an alternator bracket.

Awsome! this is the first time I read this thread. At the first page I said to myself that would be and awsome car with a turbo ls in it. Bam page 4 turbo ls motor. Nice project that thing is sweet!

Thanks, It is definitely clean, but I am not doing a full show car like yourself. Very nice project you have there.
Thanks LoL! Trust me my fairmont is no showcar but im flattered that some people think it is. I plan on beating the crap out of it no matter how it turns out though.

I got the hot side welded up, now I need to get the Intercooler and piping done. I also need to order the 3.5" stainless for the exhaust. Here are some pics of the welded hot side.

this things lookin good, what are you doin for exhaust?

going with 3.5" mandrel stainless and then y pipe to dual over the axle 2.5". Not sure on the muffler/mufflers yet.

Great project. Keep the sleeper look.

Thanks and that's the plan.

what turbo is that??
awesome.

Turbo is a cheap ON3 76mm with a T4 96 a/r exhaust. I'm hoping it holds together. I have seen many ON3 kits with his turbo last just fine.

Update pics

Here are some pics of the finished hot and cold side of my on the cheap homebuilt kit. Been a lot of fun so far, but time restaints are killing me. hope to have all the hotside off to get ceramic coated tomorrow. Let me know what you guys think and if you see any areas I am going at this the wrong way, being this is my first attempt at building a turbo kit.

Looks great! Are the plugs hard to reach with the manifolds upside down? I bet it will run great.

Plugs are easy to get to, I have to get some different wires so the plug boot will route the wire in the gap between the manifold and the head.
