Finally got the 54 home.

The story:
Grandpa bought the car in 1961, currently the car has 423,056 miles.
My Dad was suppose to get the car but passed before Grandpa.
After my grandfather passed we(my brother and I) were told it was Grandpa's wishes that we got the car.(being the only gearheads in the family)
Our Grandfather was #5 founding member of the NCRS. Had over 30 Corvettes over the years, this was his first.

Now, I was given offers before we even got out of michigan. It's not for sale, yes I know what it's worth no I don't care. It has sat for about 10-15 years so it's a little rough. Over the winter I'm going to go through it and get it running. My Goal is to be able to drive it next year and little by little collect everything to do a proper restoration. Currently has a Chevy 350 but a good eye will notice the original blue flame 6 in the one picture.

Awesome and good job in keeping it in the family and committing to take care of her.

I'd LOVE to polish that baby. Old original single-stage? boy-o-boy.

I was behind you on southbound I-75 (yesterday morning?). I was thinking to myself (based on the 1" layer of dust) somebody made a barn find.
Weird color.

Good luck with the project Tom! That will be fun. Enjoy the car like your grandfather did. That is a lot of miles which means lots of smiles. :)
