Need some help with my truck

Need some help with my 09 Escalade. My high mileage rusty and usually trusty truck needs some help.

I am having a problem with a current draw. The truck sits for weeks at a time this time of year, I'm usually driving the CTS-V.

Last week I went to grab dinner and it was dead. 100% no power dead. I charged it for a few hours at 4 amps and I took it to my local shop by my work and he said bad battery. So, I went and replaced the battery as it was under warranty anyway.

Tuesday I tried the remote start and it was fine. Today its stone dead again.

My mechanic said he doesn't have the tools to find a slow current draw.

Without taking it to the stealership, anyone have someone that can find a current draw and not completely rape me. Only parts not factory are radio and trailer brake controller.

Closer to Southfield the better.

Thanks in advance.

I could walk you through some diagnostics if you have a multimeter (which I believe everybody should have by age 9 :D )

A mechanic that doesnt Have the tools for that ??? Hmmm. A DVOM or even a test light would help. Dome lights off?, trailer 7 way corroded?, cigarette lighter clean?

I would appreciate that.

He doesn’t want to take the time to diagnose the problem. He’s a parts changer. I usually bring my own parts and have him do the work. He’s honest and capable.

I disconnected the negative and put a test light there and pulled every fuse and relay. Never dimmed. The trailer brake controller is disconnected.

If you have to take it somewhere this place is great for electrical work. But it is a drive from you.

The trailer brake controller was on without the ignition being on. But that was installed in May. So that leads me to believe that isn’t the problem.

The truck sitting for weeks at a time is nothing new. I prefer to drive the fun car whenever I can.

Were you aware that Marv passed?
I believe his son is running it now.

Marv was great.

Another thing to consider when doing a current draw test is to let the modules go to sleep. I'm not super familiar with GM, but at Mercedes I would latch the door and hood then lock the doors, the modules would go to sleep within 10 minutes or so.
