Find yourself a vintage Marantz receiver and a pair of Large Advents or vintage JBLs....surround is for soccer moms. Anything worth doing is worth doing right.
Slat wall and peg board are not the same. I have pegboard in the garage and basement workbench. Can't hold heavier stuff, slatwall can handle That, and slat wall looks way cooler. Do I NEED it? no.. Do I want it?.. yeah.. yeah I do.It is called pegboard. Pretty inexpensive stuff.
out of space?

I wonder how those will deal with water, I dont think you could have one in MI. Foot of snow on top, rain getting down inside, etc.out of space?

BicowlImp- Do you have a 1996 Grandsport?
I know there is a difference, and I agree that slat looks much better. Big-cowl imp posted a pic of pegboard though, not slat board.
Your wrong 2x ....its called slatwall and the pics i posted are slatwall....I posted no pics of peg board...
What the hell do you know??
J/k...apparently my eyes are failing me. When I looked at the pic the first time it looked like pegboard.
I got the slat wall at Detroit store fixture and they sell used hooks cheap.....i think there a block or 2 before Liverniose..or about 1 1/4 miles before woodward......on 8 mile..south side..

Do your electrical, insulation, drywall, paint, and do the floor. (in that order) After that, everything's easy. I didn't paint mine after I hung the drywall, I should've. I even mudded and taped. Now I've got cabinets on the walls, and the drywall's yellowing from welding smoke. I might just paint around them. I also really wish I had done something with the floor. I still might. And put as much power out there as you can like Mike said. I've gotta get more out to my garage once spring hits. Go at least 100 amps. And a pull down ladder into the attic helps a ton.
