I've been lurking around for a bit. I figure its about time I introduce my car. As the title says, it's a 87 Chrysler Conquest widebody. A few years ago I was looking for a fun project car just to kill time and have fun with, and I can across this one for $350 with a blown headgasket, a bit rusted and oxidized paint.
This is when I first brought it home.
My original plan was to swap a LS1 and T56 into it but I just wanted to drive the damn thing so I just tried to get the thing running.
I replaced the headgasket and onthe first test drive I drove it 10 miles or so, then I turn down my street and it dies. I tried tostart it again and it wouldn't turn over. I wasn't paying attention to oil pressure once I got so close to home. My stupid mistake. So I bring it home and start tearing it apart. and found that I did a number on the rod bearings
So I pulled the rest of the motor out and start rebuilding it. I didn't go to crazy with it because I'm on a budget and notto worried about it breaking records or anything, so I just just did a stock bottom end rebuild.
And threw the stock top end back on
So far so good:
here's a vid of the first drive. I tried to stay ot of boost but its impossible.

Since then i've been autocrossing it like crazy and rallycrossing up until august when I got i painted.
here's a few action pics:
Typical
Rallycross with the car only last up until augst when I got it painted.
I did one event and was pissed off at myself for getting it dirty after one event. After this event I vowed I wouldn't rallycross it anymore
So needless to say.. it doesn't get dirty anymore.
$6000 later and hundreds of hours of work, this is how it sits now.
I haven't done muchin go fast mods. Most of the mods are suspension. The few engine mods I did do, I feel I got a pretty good response. In june of last, year I went to the drag strip for the first time. It was a nickle and dime night so it was pretty packed so I only got a few runs off.
Here's my fastest slip:
Stock is mid 16's I think. Not bad considering the few cheap power mods I did. I think I could get it down in the 14.3's. I'm a n00b at drag racing so I still need a few runs to figure out how and when to launch and shift.
Anyways.... here's some more vids from all the events went to lastyear.

Thats about it. Once this is done, I still plan on getting another one to do the LS1 swap. If this one is ever done.
Next on the list of things to do:
Find some 17x9 or larger Mustang wheels so I can put these on em:
Enjoy
