Are we getting a lot? One of the startups I'm helping with would be interested in grabbing some spots. Thinking of launching the day of the dream cruise. Similar setup to what we did with AutoBike a few years back.

I'd be down for a spot also , but i definitly think we need to consider a different area i really did not enjoy seeing our members being harassed and pushed around by the cops last year

I mentioned this to the wife last night and was going to discuss with the property owner before I book that location again this year. There was no reason they should have bombarded us like that, they hadn't asked us to leave and we disobeyed etc. and I didn't appreciate the officer running up to me, shoving/chest bumping me asking what I was going to do about it. Had I not had Nick O'Rita's that day I would have pushed the envelope and welcomed a visit to the station with the amount of witnesses present. I thought about talking to the lot owner and visiting with the Huntington woods PD chief prior to committing this year. We're a pretty calm crowd, families are present, and there was no need for the "SWAT" team approach or them saying "you guys are trouble every year".. We hadn't even been asked to leave at any point throughout the night. Long story short, we'll make it happen either way, I'll be bringing multiple grills this year.
 
Our regular spot isn't bad. It's not in the crazy traffic area. So getting in and out of the lot is easier. I don't sit at the lot all day. I walk up to big beaver and back.

I walked to about 13 1/2 mile and thought I was going to have a heat stroke. It was so damn hot
 
our spot rules because you have moving traffic, people accellerating from a stoplight, AND a traffic jam on the other side northbound so you can get a longer look at the cars that just zoomed by. As far as cops, I dont see why anyone stays that late... call me old. ha! Thanks for getting it done Nick!
 
Put me down for a spot again this year, i'm definitely down again. It would be good to have a meeting with the property owner ahead of time to iron out our occupancy time, and be able to stand up to the officers this year................pending nick-o-rita overload. Very calm crowd, and definitely family friendly atmosphere.
 
With Chrysler moving from 13 Mile up to M1 Concourse is it worth considering trying to get a lot up closer to that area? Seems like the Chrysler location and M1 Concourse combination could shift some of the focus of the dream cruise in that direction. Lots up that way aren't historically in high demand so we could be able to sneak in somewhere up there this year with a lot owner that doesn't realize that he now has a prime location? Just a thought.

I thought that was a good spot also. Nick and his posse did good.
 
Start collecting money soon. So its not a mad rush in August. I like the lot we have. But will pay and show up wherever it is. As long as I can drink everyone's beer. Especially out of white ford lightings
