Anybody know of a good MMA Trainig facility on the westside? I train at Dragon Academy now (Krav Maga), but am looking for more competion style training like a ground and pound, ect.....

Thanks.

If you have a myspace, go on and find James lee he is the king of the cage champ right now and he has a pretty good class you can get private lessons as well. I know of a couple other good camps but they are more north

Tracy's on the East side, and James Lee's joint on the west side. I have a couple friends that train at Tracy's, and James Lee is a bad ass, although he is known for undertraining. He has a lot of skill.

I looked into James Lee's stuff. It looks pretty sweet. Anybody else know about him? Thanks for the input guys....

He works out at my gym. Him and I have talked a few times. I was considering going over to his gym to train.

yea Brenden and Vance are my trainers. there
cool guys, they take the time with everybody
and we do lots of cardio . blah !
but its worth it in the end

Alot of these schools are pretty rough. Meaning that you need to be in pretty good shape. The cardio needed for MMA is insane. I currently train BJJ and our school teaches a few MMA classes.

Are you training to compete or just for exercise? Also be prepared to get hurt and sore, lol. That is all part of the training. :)

I expect to get hurt. I have been in and out of martial arts, wrestling, street fights, and bar bouncing jobs since I was 14 years old. I would love to get into MMA training with a good trainer, though. I'm well aware that I need some professional conditioning to be competitive at my weight (5'11" 230lbs) when I am matched up with others who have been training for a while. Plus, street fighting does not = ring/cage fighting. There are rules in ring/cage fighting.

Mental Note: Stay on Art's good side. He is good back-up at the bar.

street fighting is over fast . fight in a ring is alot different
its always slow motion to me / everything slows down and 3 /3 min rounds seems like all day long .
