MMA Training?

street fighting is over fast . fight in a ring is alot different
its always slow motion to me / everything slows down and 3 /3 min rounds seems like all day long .

Most street/bar fights are over fast. But yeah, I agree. A few years back when I was in the ring fighting/wrestling it seemed some of those matches would never end.

I expect to get hurt. I have been in and out of martial arts, wrestling, street fights, and bar bouncing jobs since I was 14 years old. I would love to get into MMA training with a good trainer, though. I'm well aware that I need some professional conditioning to be competitive at my weight (5'11" 230lbs) when I am matched up with others who have been training for a while. Plus, street fighting does not = ring/cage fighting. There are rules in ring/cage fighting.

DAm you want to compete in the Heayweight Class. Take a look at Jeff Monson.

PS> There are no beer bottles on the cage or ring, :D

Monson is a sick mother fucker, I know. Like I said, I'd need a good amount of conditioning to be able to compete. I can take a lot of abuse, and I know how to put my weight behind a punch or a kick, and send them out fast, but three 5 minute, (or even 3 minute) rounds is a loooong time. I'd have to work on my fexibility also. I can't deliver a kick anywhere near as high as I could 8 years ago.

What's the rule on me bringing my own stools, bottles, etc into the ring/cage? I have no problem providing my own.

If you were going to compete, you would want to get down to less than 200lbs. Their conditioning is a whole new level.

Being a heavyweight just at amature events you dont need to be in the best shape alot of amature heavyweights are slow and fat....The more weight you cut the better shape yopou need to be in
