lt1 vs 97 cobra.... need advice

4V motors REALLY like gears. If the guy isn't a pussy and really put some gear in it the thing will move pretty good.

well i was just wondering what you guys thought since a lot of yal are mustang guys.. Figured you would know more than the lt1/ls1 guys down here lol

i'm pretty sure he sprayed the heck out of it

and my friends formula puts 390 to the wheels

Here is my take,

1) 390 to the wheels out of an auto LT1 with bolt ons and a cam? No way. Thats what an LS1 six speed would make with bolt ons and a cam. Maybe I missed something but that doesn't add up.

2) if you spun hard at the beginning than pulled back, he was probably not spraying.
 
I went 13.5 @ 105 with just flowmasters my first time at a track. I have 4.10s and can tell you I have beaten lt1 cars on the track and the street. I would say he may not have sprayed considering I have a hard time holding off lt1 bolt on cars on the top end. If he would have hit it with a 150 shot all your friend would have seen was taillights unless he is a total idiot behind the wheel. just my .02

It is a custom grind cam from a place down here ( don't know the name exactly ) but its a nasty cam. The car has a shit load of head work with rockers and it put down 375 with a fucked up opti. It should put down 390 easily with the 4.10's that were put in the car. It has a shit load of work done to it. He bought it from a guy who built the shit out of it and then had to go off to war. IT WILL put 390 down... no question. When he does i will just have to post a picture of the dyno sheet
 
With a pretty big cam and some GOOD headwork and tuning maybe but that doesnt make it a cam and bolt on car. Thats a heads/cam/full bolt on car. I was thinking 390 cam only?! Damn my car is slow! lol. Well it is :icon_frow but back to the matter at hand...

went 12.0@102 with no full pressure prob would have went 11.8\11.7 if it could have made a full pass

My buddys stock 5 speed notch with just shorties and a gear went 13.5 with nothing else done to it.

Kenny could not drive to save his life. I think the best he was running with that thing was mid 13's in the lower 100's. I was going mid 12's at the time in my purple car. I wanted to line up with him that day sooooo bad!
