ls1 guys look in

Geoff, I tried calling you, but no answer. Dan said bring it down anytime during the day. Call me before you leave so I can give him a head up for when you will be here.

just a baby
a 250 / 258 110+4 would be a monster

Cam isnt anything huge, I cruise around at 1k rpms in 6th with no bucking :)

It's on a 114LSA so it isnt anything dramatic, and yes my SCR is 11.5:1.

Sean, my car has Livernois L92 heads on it, and a tune from Livernois. It went 11.209 @ 126 with a 1.84 60'. This is in a six speed car, 1 3/4" headers, STOCK L76 intake. FULL weight, leather interior, Monsoon radio, power windows, power door locks, power seats. STOCK suspension from 1999. STOCK 10 bolt. STOCK gear, and STOCK wheels with a bald Nitto drag radial on them.

There was a slight headwind too if you want to factor that in. Still think theres no good L92 track results? If that's not impressive I'll show you a 10 second slip next year. Still NA on pump gas with 11.5:1 compression. Maybe it's the BP gas I get, I don't get any KR.

obviously i'm new to building big time engines and sean i'll be comeing to your shop later to see whitehawks car so i'll just ask most of my questions there.

i know everyone always asks the same question
but as for a cam how do i really know what to pick since that effects c/r and everything

i mean for my setup, thought about looking into getting the exhaust sides of the heads opened up.

i mean once i have a nice cam picked out i can then move onto how much to mill the heads and headgasket thickness right?

and for p to v clearence how do i know if i got too much cam by sticking the cam in and turning it over by hand? if i had a prob i'd have to buy another cam and ect.

alot of guys i read about have an auto so i know there cam would be diff compared to a 6 speed from what i've read.

oh and 88ls1blazer
are those numbers threw the stock 10bolt and a m6?

i mean sorry for all the questions but i've just never built a serious engine, only a stock rebuild is what i've done and had a few turbo cars

For picking a cam, i know im no expert, i understand them, and know a good amount, but i wouldnt spec nothing out for anybody, thats why i went to Patrick G, and talked to him, to see what he thought, and he had great advice and i went with him for speccing out the cam, and everything worked out great, you just need to know who your talking to.

I know my numbers are through a 6 speed and 10 bolt, I know I will be going with a 9 inch, but ill also have larger headers, a better intake, an underdrive pulley, maybe an EWP, and i might be ditching the stock 78mm MAF and go speed density. im very happy with my numbers NA how they are cause the motor is built loose for the bottle and the cam was specced out for a large shot of spray, not NA power.

Don't take this offensively JDP. There are also alot of 347 inch combos out there going similar numbers with catherdral ports and 50 less cubes. I'd say right now it looks promising.

Best of luck with the combo and lets see some 10sec time slips next year.

Curious as to what has been done to the chamber with CNC porting in the port. If livernoius reworked the chamber that would solve the knock retard. My comments about compression are driven soley by what I have consistenly seen with Stock Unmodified chambers and higher compression ratios with the l92 heads.

Looks like you got a good running combo.

Livernois doesn't touch the chambers on l92 stuff, they may on the yet to be realsed stage 3 race head. But I haven't even seen pre-production versions yet.

Do they polish our touch up the chambers or mill the heads and do a plunge cut around the valvejob ?

ya, but the driveability on thos 500hp cars are probably a lot more extreme, and those cars have every other bolton to squeeze all the power they can out of it, my setup isnt near finished yet, and there isnt any 500+hp 346 cars that have the torque my car made.

i cant wait to see what the car does with an aftermarket intake, cause thats choking the motor and holding the cam back a good amount, and 1 7/8' headers will help pick it up too.

my heads have been milled about .025 i think it was

as standard they do not mill (well an .003 cleanup) you would have to check w/ JDP if we cut his or not. As I stated before they don't touch the chambers, If i was at the shop I could take a pic, but every set I have seen have been 100% untouched anywhere in the chamber. And I have slod ALOT of them...

Not really gonna dispute that but we have been close to the 500rwhp mark as of late with very driveable combos in the 6speed cars.

L92 stuff isn't totally mature yet. It is deffinately improving however.

No dipsute on the TQ its getting enough RPM to get the car down the track effectively that has really been the big hang up thus far.

ya, my car peaks power at about 6000 before it falls off, the cam i have should pull higher but the intake is holding it back.

max effort 346 cars are revving over 7000 to get to the 500whp mark.
