LASIK in the Metro Detoit area???

I swear this topic has been covered on here but I think it's been a few years, so to get the most current info I figured I'd start a new thread. I've been told by my regular optometrist that I'd be a good candidate for LASIK. Looking for opinions on who you guys would recommend to perform the operation, and a rough cost estimate if you don't mind. (I live in Bay City and his recommendation was for someone in Saginaw, not going to get into why I don't want to go there). Any help and info is appreciated.

Dr Sherman performed LASIK on both my wife and I. It was $2000 for each of us, but that was 14 years ago. It was the best $$ we ever spent and I would go to him again if I needed anything else done. His office is in GC, but he did our procedures at Beaumont in Royal Oak.

I went to Yaldo in 2008. Went from severely nearsighted to near perfect vision in 35 seconds. Was about $900/eye. Paid cash and got a better deal with them. I got the LASEK where they shape the outside surface your eye instead of LASIK which shapes just the cornea (my cornea's weren't thick enough for the prescription repair needed). LASEK is the surgery they use on military and law enforcement. It takes a little longer to heal but the results are supposed to be better for longer. 8 yrs later and I am still great in the vision area (my back is another story :lol: )

I went to Yaldo about 5 years ago after Tony said so many good things about him. They knocked off $500 when I said I was referred to them by him. I used my health care flex spending account so that I could pay for it with after-tax dollars throughout the year.

Come to Canada to see Dr. Tayfour and take advantage of the Canadian dollar, had my eyes done by him about 8 years ago, and still test at the same prescription as when first done.

Had mine done in Windsor back in 2001 and it is still by far the best money I have ever spent!

My wife had it done in Windsor 12 or so years ago and it's still good. I had it done less than 5 years ago at U of M in Ann Arbor. Pretty much top dollar but absolutely no complaints. Anyway, that's where I went and can offer. I liked the doctor better than when I met w/Rahmani as well, FWIW.

I too had mine done in Windsor 10years ago. Zero complaints here. My entire family has gone to WLEI not a single issue. Lifetime follow up & touch ups if needed

I went to Dr. Haddad at the Laser Eye Institute a few years ago and would recommend that place. My sister also had it done there and so did one of my wife's cousins. I had a pretty bad astigmatism as well.
