Joels on Joy ?

Any body here know how to get a hold of shawn or somebody from the shop over the weekend? I spoke with them yesterday and Shawn was suppose to get back with me today around noon to pick up my C4, but 5 hours later and no contact yet. Kind of pisses me off I'm trying to give them 600$ to go through it and they can't even give me a phone call to confirm or at least let me know something came up. Pushed a few things out of the way today so I could get the trans to them today and now I'm sitting here wasting my time waiting for them. I'd like to take my business to them from all the good I've heard about them but when I'm about to give them nearly a grand I'd appreciate a call like i was told. (Not trying to bash anyone there).

But anyways, who else around would you guys recommend for going through a C4? I know you guys have to have a couple decent shops. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Try Rossler Transmissions in Ohio, great guy to deal with! Switched to Rossler from Joel years ago and never looked back.

rich at detroit gearbox is a good guy. He built the Turbo 400 thats going into my mustang.

But with the guys that do really good work on anything you kind of have to chase them down. It's just the nature of the beast really you end up getting really busy it's not that easy to keep track of everything.

while I do agree the guys who do good work can be hard to get a hold of, when I'm spending this amount of money, i expect good service. looks like my 2nd option, Rich, will be getting my business.

I disagree. That is just piss poor service and businessman. These are examples of people to stay away from.

I don't have the time or energy to chase people down to give them money. If you're that great. Show me by being polite.

Joel has been like that forever was going to have him do a 400 years ago but went to the shop and he acted like he was doing me a favor to spend money with him I only deal with Lang trans

Yeah, Joel was the same way with me when I had him do a trans like 6-7 years ago. I didn't know of any other good options at the time so I just put up with him, plus his prices were good at the time, but now-a-days I would go elsewhere despite his reputation of good work. I've talked to Rich @ Detroit Gearbox about a trans recently and he has a much better attitude about things and took the time to explain everything. Seems like a stand-up guy and I haven't heard a single complaint about his work. He'll most likely be who does my next transmission.

I like places that'll give you the time of day. And many of thoses places are on here and i've done business with those awesome people. I hate places that tell you one thing, do another, withhold info that could change my situation, treat me like crap etc etc.

Thank you all who have helped me and continues to help.

Oh and Rich at detroit gear is great too (Sorry rich forgot to mention you me in other post) Had him do some work on my dually.

My brother has his C4 at Joels. It has been there about 5 months and now he just keeps getting the run around on why its not done and how he would rather sell him a 400 instead.
