It's finally in Forza..... Forza players get inside...

OK - started playing again a little here and there. Let's get something together. Anyone going to be on tonight???

I've got a stock powertrain A600 ZL1 that'll run the ring in 8:06 flat (further proof Forza laptimes are off at least 5%) ready to whoop some butt. :icon_smil

I still fail to see how running a car equipped with MR from the factory in Forza and not getting the same time is an endictment against Forza. There's no way they can model that suspension and it is clearly improtant to the car's dynamics.

I can also build a car very close to our E30 and run a much faster time around road America than I did in real life. While you're running slower than what is essentially a professional driver.

A pre-70 C Class Roadster Race would have the following cars eligible
54 Jag Xk120 E237*
55 Porsche 550 F198
56 Lotus Eleven E217*
56 Jag D type C410*
57 Ferrari 250 TR C361
57 Maserati 300S c420
57 Ferrari 250 Cali D302
58 MG MGA Twin Cam F122*
58 Aston Martin DBR1 C418*
59 BMW 507 F189
60 Chevrolet Corvette D277
62 Triumph TR3B F121*
65 Austin Healey 3000 mk III F173*

Tehcnically the Cadillac would be eligible too, although far from fitting in the spirit as a couple of things listed even might be questionable
if you open it up to pre 2000 the 86 Alfa Romeo Quadrifolio Verde F145 is eligible, going from 70 cut off to 2000 adds no other cars
This list is based only on cars that have no roof in the game, thus, are roadsters.
*If you said British only, you still have a pretty good selection with 7 cars

Shelby Cobra starts in A class so if the race was capped at C it doesn't fit. A bunch of the cars listed might not even built up to the top of A class so the Shelby would be hard to make fit. As Forza 2 went, we could get a pretty competitive race in C class, A class got less competitive.

It's not just because of the MR suspension. I've had the same problem with a C6 Z06. The difference in laptimes is off there too. Best run I could put together at the ring after 10 laps or so, was a 7:54. That was with a factory Z06 on slicks (@30.5psi so they ran close to 35psi warm)...no other mods. In reality - factory without slicks, that car went 7:42....with sticky tires 7:22. I highly doubt my 30 second difference is because I suck at driving in the game...

Well, I've been focusing all of this "times don't add up" on the 'ring. Since they did the review of the ZL1 and GT500 at Laguna Seca, I took a ZL1 out and destroyed Pobst's time @ Laguna....by almost 2 seconds. So, rather than blaming the cars themselves, I think the problem is in track scale. Laguna might be a touch too short where as, there are sections of the 'ring that are too long. I'm still disappointed about this a little. I would hope that we'd have the technology to take a satelite image of a track and overlay it into the model they developed for the video game to correct any variances. But, I guess that didn't happen.

Well, I got my TV ordered today ... hopefully I can move into my house in the next couple weeks. I'll probably get Live and continuously bash my car into the wall on Nurburgring ^.^.

Though it looks like I'll have a night of doing updates :|
