Issue with neighbors behind me

How does this not bother other neighbors??

That is a very good point.

Maybe ask them and see if they notice, if they dont notice maybe they will start noticing it. Im sure that after 2-3 different people talk to them they might reconsider the "not changing my ways" mentallity.

Holy crap that is loud. Didn't watch the first video but just watched the one you posted. That would drive me crazy. Good luck with whatever solution you find. Hope you find one soon.

I have a call into the head guy for the Macomb County Noise ordinances.

My thoughts were also leaning toward the other neighbors.... but maybe they are not home during the day to hear it. I suspect the decibel level is not much more than a lawn mower or leaf blower.
Its a long shot, but the system may have been hard wired v/s plugged into a outlet. If it is I suspect a permit has to be pulled for the installation.
Also, since its plumbed as part of the house it adds value to the home & is taxable. Ask your city township to check records on the home to see if permits were pulled and if the system is listed under assessments. If its not listed, the city township can ask to inspect the system and may require them to pull a permit.
They can require noise suppression for final approval.

WOW, that seems way worse than the 1st video. Craziness for sure. Keep us posted. Def check with other neighbors. GL

That's definitely not right - ridiculously loud. I'd get in contact with the township and file a complaint. I'd also talk to other neighbors.

Sounds like the canister's full?

Wouldn't that be the crazy ticket to the whole thing? Lol

He hates the constant vacuuming because it's loud (canister is full)

She vacuums constantly because it doesn't pick up (canister is full)

Lol Go empty the canister and slip 99electriccobra a 20!

Now I cannot confirm, but I did ask them that when I spoke to them about it and she said NO. It really always seems to be the same volume so I do doubt it.

I see these being the issues:
- Vented out in the Corner of the Brick Garage/House (Amplifying the Volume) right towards my house ONLY.
- Older/Louder Vacuum Unit
- No Inline Muffler
- Not Vented into the Garage like it should be (For that Style Vacuum)
- Ignorant Neighbors who don't give a Shit

I spoke to the City. He is doing some digging on the legal side but sounds like he is going to set up a Decibel Meter to record on the edge of my property line. He cannot do it on theirs as he would need permission, but he stated if the reading comes back high she can be cited. All what a pain and stupid.

All I think they really need is one of these (Which I offered to them that I would buy and have installed)

Curious...what is the "acceptable" threshold for a Db reading? Is that all day long, or limited to certain hours?

Just want to know to file away in my back pocket as I am in Macomb (I thought you were too?) and it could be useful someday.

Where I live, the hours are between 10pm and 8am, although Warren doesn't classify at which sound pressure level is considered excessive noise. From what I can gather looking at other cities, anything more than 70dB is considered excessive. FWIW, 70dB is about the sound pressure level of city traffic.

70dB is actually pretty loud.

If I were you I'd jb weld a duck call on it.

Hang a huge tarp up along the back of your property that says "I have loud disrespectful neighbors."

So what ever happened with this bud?
Well, I am not sure what they actually did to fix the crazy jet plane noise but it is very quiet now. So I guess my little talk with her and my wife asking neighbors prompted them to fix it. You can hear it while on the patio but it is not obnoxious at all. I changed shifts for a bit and have yet to thank them in person. We could not be happier.

Cool, glad to hear that!
