Issue with neighbors behind me

Let it happen during "quiet time" (most cities ordinances are from 11pm-7 or 8am) and call the cops and tell them you want it looked into as to what's making all the noise, why and how to stop it.

I highly advise downloading a police scanner app and streaming it. If something good happens, it's like being at a drive in movie theater.

I can see some of everyone's creativity coming out in this thread. I am welcome to suggestions haha

I know for a fact it is her vacuuming. I can see her in action doing so in the windows.

I am not exaggerating in is 2 to 3 hours randomly throughout the day every day. She is obsessive compulsive (she said so her self) about cleaning. My wife thinks it is all about the straight lines and no footprints in the carpet. They have 3 little dogs that bark like crazy when the see us and 3 daughters. Youngest is a senior in High school.

These people follow their little ankle biters with umbrellas when it is sprinkling outside.

Maybe motor on the vacuum is going out. If it is, that may explain why she does it so much.

We have a nice lot where we don't have neighbors to close but I still don't want to Blair the stereo and end up being the one at fault. Then they win... they also have cameras on their house cause they had issues of daughters boyfriends egging their house.

Ask your neighbors what they have said or done..
Asked the ones right next to me but they are Never outside and don't talk to anyone. My wife has been waiting for the right moment to ask the other house.

I know the main issue is where the exhaust exits their house. It is right in the back in the corner of the garage and the house. Their and my house are on 45 degree from one another so the pipe faces right to my patio then is amplified by the all brick corner where the exhaust exits.

After living with crappy neighbors for 20+ years, I put up a privacy fence between the 2 homes. I know that isn't want you want to do, but most of the noise will reflect back to them. I waited so long because I actually thought they would change, but it never happened. All of a sudden, I don't hear them anymore...Not at all....

But, remember, you can make the laws work in YOUR favor. Start up your lawn mower and generator at 7am every morning you are home at that time, make sure they are on the property line and just walk away for 2 hours. Just let them run...Buy really cheap outdoor speakers insulate the back of them well, point them towards their home and play music. Doesn't even have to be loud, because the speakers won't be facing you, just them and it will be never ending, even when she isn't vacuuming...

The key is you need to be relentless at doing this, just like she is. If you only do it once in a while, then it won't bother them and they won't get the message because they are just too ignorant. It has to be every day, day after day after day after day, otherwise you won't get thru to them how annoying it is. Remember, day after day after day...It has to be the same thing over and over....Trust me, I've been thru this.....

One single song is all you need...Something like In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida over and over, day after day...Just the one song is no different than the same vacuum sound hour after hour. And when they come by to ask you to stop playing it, all you have to say is it is my Father's favorite song from the 60's and that you are sort of obsessive/compulsive about things he likes...Remember, Hour after hour, day after day...

I have a couple of funny stories about these neighbors, too..After I began playing their games...

7am is when you can legally begin making construction noises...Ask me how I know :)

I would be as nice as I could possibly be,
for as long as I possibly could.

Try talking to them again & nicely explain
Just how much this is affecting your family.

My last resort would be going to war with them.

This is why I don’t live in a subdivision. Rural living
has its disadvantages, but has many more advantages!

The neighbor behind me runs a "detailing" business. He washes cars all day when it's nice out. So I hear his power washer and vacuum going all day long. It sucks. But he's also... um, a little... slow? He's 50 and lives at home with his 90 year old parents. I don't really wanna be the guy who complains about the disabled dude. He also has a late 90s Ram SS/T with an exhaust on it... and I am not bullshitting when I say that he starts it and moves it in and out of the driveway 20+ times a day. Drives me nuts.

At least he’s a nice guy. Be nice to him or
I’ll start bringing him my fleet for weekly detailing

That might be the situation where you offer to put a muffler on it lol.

i'd find a muffler that fit it and just go put it on without her knowing. clamp that bitch on there and cover it with JB weld.

say the damn daughters BF probably came and did it.

Few cans of high density spray foam in the vent coming outta that house... pre stuff it with some catch of the day, for example: bottom feeder sheephead or dogfish.
