Issue with neighbors behind me

Sorry for the crappy vid and turning the screen. .. it is about the excessive noise you hear in the background.

Ok long story short. Moved in last Aug. 1st week moving I met the neighbors and all seems cool with them. As time progresses we keep hearing this crazy noise randomly coming from the house numerous times a day.

See them outside and ask them what the noise was and she told me it was their internal vacuum systems blah blah blah.

More time goes by I nicely asked them if they realized how loud it was? They laughed it off saying oh it isn't loud and nobody else has ever complained.

Another month goes by and is driving my wife and I crazy. This lady literally vacuums for 2 to 3 hours a day. We are outside a lot with the kids and you can see in the vid we have a nice patio that we like to spend time and entertain, etc... never fails we have to listen to this crap all the time. They know and see us outside but she can give 2 shits.

Jump ahead to this spring. I ask nicely if they could look into how loud it is again. I even offered paying for a muffler and to have it installed, (in line mufflers range from $18-50) etc... she then got snippy and said there is nothing they can do and she is not changing her ways. I kept calm and basically said anyhelp would be appreciated.

Anyway here is the vid. What are your thoughts?

That's pretty damn loud. Do you have a homeowners association? If so, I'd start there.

Yes and so do they but unfortunately we are not in the same association. Video does not do justice to how loud it is, how often she is vacuuming and for how long of a duration.

With the back door wall and windows closed sitting in my living room you can hear it while watching TV

That seems excessive but its probably within noise ordinance limits. Maybe call the police station and see what they have to say about it

I had a neighbor that continued to annoy my after asking nicely about her teenage son bouncing on a rusty pogo stick outside my bedroom window at 7 am on Saturday/Sunday mornings.. Easy solution. Put on 2 Live Crew greatest hits, opened the windows and let it blare. He was brought in the house with a quickness and it never happened again.

Same thing my lawyer said to do...

Throw a large party weekly/daily and on the dividing property line. Be sure to smoke meats, conduct bonfires, talk over music that's ideal to your standards, and be sure majority of the guests that participate have rather abnormal loud transportation.

Im sure a lot more foods and activities can be included.

Set it up, I'm there!! Just be sure to invite your mom...
