All it takes is one person to complain, hell they onmost got Lebannon Vally Dragway closed and that was there for ever and is in the middle of nowhere.

The big three automakers the Kalitta's and even John Force and some other drivers was all going to put money up for it Force even said that he would put time into it too
 
i say in pontiac,tear down the silverdome its just sitting their any way tons of property give the city some of the action..they bitch about street racing everywhere so you could promote legal street racing keep the city happy buy making some $ and a safe place to race its a win win..

any where is fine by me ..lots of us spend alot of $ on our cars to some its a hobbie to others its their life, you cant cruise gratiot any more ,cant hang out here or there, cops call it loitering wtf give us something .....

I agree. They complain about street racing then shoot down putting up a dragstrip. :rolleyes: Makes no sense at all.:dontknow:

I remember this when Force was talking with the Ford execs in Dearborn about this, and he said how it was such a shame that Detroit didn't have a national event caliber track.

A little known fact is that Connie Kalitta actually bought Milan dragway in the early '80's, but the deal fell through shortly after. It would have been interesting if he would have kept it, what Milan would be like today.

Something like the Silverdome would be sweet, a ton of room and have security drive around, you know how many people would go there?! That place would be packed EVERY weekend! Have concessions and what not.

exactly it would be packed im playing owner here,25 to race no bracket racing ( except for speacil events tbd) all tnt say thurs thru -sat 5-11 pm .play to the street racer money for best light ,fastest car and clean bath rooms.if a race is set up and a car gets some room give it to him mark the track in car lenghts ok now im getting carried away

Get a petition together and make your stand. If we can't have dragstrips then they can't have casino's :lol:
 
131 is like a 3 hour drive for east siders thats way to far, detroit needs a national caliber track,and lapeer is pretty out of the way for most people too. it needs to in pontiac or area for the people to get to it, what about renting an airport landing strip on friday and saturday nights. 25 is still kind of high to run, i dont think it needs to be more than 15, 20 tops. i have a dragstrip by me at ft. campbell where theres probably a hundred people who show up, and its only 10 bucks to run, granted the track is probably shittier than i remember lapeer being
