Is anyone ever going to wise up.....

just find some abandon land downtown by some factories or something, nobody lives down there and tha factorys wouldn't care, i guess thats kind of what goes down now only it's not legal. Even better just pay some "muscle" to shut down a good 1/4 and give the cops hell when they show up lol.

They tried to get one in/near the fairground. It got shot down by all the other cities around Detroit. I guess they's rather hear gunfire.

Maybe. I just know back when my Dad bought his house they had the FBI and others at their house becuase they had been harboring a known felon in their shed/small house on their property or something like that.

You cant race a car with a 10 inch lift and 26's on it so thats a no-go

I know joe frantz, and micky. Joe owns a construction biz...at least he did and him and micky built our barn on wadhams for my dad.... To say the least we had some good talks and he told us how deep he is in....very scary! he's a cool guy but My dad didn't want the FBI at or house taking our shit. I like joe though.

I say the SAME thing for Lansing. Hell, Lansing prides itself in being a town for GM & Oldsmobile. Yet, aside from a car show that occurs 3 times a year, Lansing refuses to do anything else. They won't even allow weekend hang-outs anywhere.... Even attempt to remove people from private property where permission has been granted and when that doesn't work, they just sit and wait in lots nearby.

The crowd here that would go to the dragstrip is huge for the size of the town - and theres lots of areas surrounding Lansing that would be perfect..... Yet, nobody who wants to do it and the city officials that have a hardon about keeping car and racing enthusiasts off the street and out of sight.

I live in Milan and i barely go there, mostly because its a rip off...what is it now? like $15 to spectate, and $25 to race? If you ask me spectating should be like $5 at most.....what a fukin RIP. PISS ON THEM!

yea, and when you go there you get a run or two at best over the whole day!

The big three automakers was talking about supporting and development of a world class drag strip near Detroit back in July 2002

In 1988 IHRA announced plans to build a drag strip in Ash Township in Monroe County South of Detroit but nothing came of it after local opposition mounted.
even Doug Kalitta said " We need one I know the fans would come and watch us run in Detroit"

Milan is only an inconvienience to us east siders. Putting a track up on the east side or a little further north would inconvienience the west side. And there is no way in hell there will ever be a track inside the beltway. The only available land I could see is near metro airport and its not that far from the track we already have.

I think this is the best idea, You know what is sad. Detroit has an awesome riverfront, THAT NOBODY GOES TO!!! I'd put it off jefferson downtown. Defintley down in the D. Property is so cheap right now, nobody gives a fuck about permits or noise.

It's about the dolla-dolla bill yall!!

Show me the money ((best Rod Tidwell voice))

Is Milan closing?

You guys don't know how good you have it with I lived in Boston it was 90 miles to New England dragway 2nd closest Lebonon Valley Dragway 110 miles than EnglishTown 200 + miles
