Yes, you're after pressure, and pressure builds up in smaller spaces. Hence the placing of the subs facing each side of the car. (picture the magnets being back to back, and 2 subs on each side...not tall)

And by the way, the db mic is supposed to on the windshield because that's the last place the bass reflects off of since the subs are mounted in the back of a vehicle.

Let's not argue, let's dance!!!

Magnets back to back??? then why was the clamshell box one of the loudest boxes built?? that put the magnets completely opposite of eachother.

actualy the mic was placed on the passenger front seat not the windshield.

dude im not dancing with you...everybody knows the back street boys can dance and that i cant...lmao...

Yeah, there was a brother in a black Suburban with a wall of 10 12's, who thought the same thing. He used to hang out at the Car Tunes on Gratiot back in the day. He thought the same thing. A DB meter and $300.00 bet later, he was wrong..by almost a full 2 DB. :D

I used to work for Car Tunes for three years from 17-20. I built my 97 Jimmy for DB Drag. What did your ride hit on the DB mike all. My two JL's hit 152.6db.

actually it was 64 10" fosgates or orions i believe. not sure about the brand but i know it was 64 tens. thats why she did all the glass and cemente work in order to make 64 tens hit 170db.

I was tight with Rick Jones from PPI that had a alot to do with the build and design of that vehicle. It was 64 PPI Pro 10's that ended up breaking over the 170db mark. I've sat in the bronco with the door open and Rick burped it to 165db. I couldn't fricking breath, it was grossly louder than my truck at 152db.

One of the coolest things about the design of that truck was the door latch mechanisms. It had a latch on a linear actuator that hooked and then pulled the door closed and it had two layers of stripping material that interlocked. Damn near air tight or as close as you were gonna get.

My highest DB in Outlaw was 160.8.

Car Tunes on Gratiot? If so, you might remember my costum painted Red/Orange metallic Eddie Bauer Explorer on 20's and a cargo area full of speakers and amps. :D
