I Jet Ski all the time. I am totally wrecked as in total body is tired. I sleep awesome all the time. I can pretty much sleep whenever I want and don't wake up during the night. I want to start running because I know I am out of shape....that's cardio right? I can jet ski for hours and stand it, but I run for 100 feet and am out of breath. I don't think I have an oz of fat on me so does this all come down to what I am eating and possibly need to start running?
Your eating habits will make a big difference. I eat a lot of smaller meals throughout the day. Start with breakfast to get the body going. Usually a yogurt for a morning snack. Lunch is a sandwich and some snack crackers. I also switched from soda to green tea. I also pack snacks for the afternoon (carrot sticks, pretzels, dry roasted peanuts, granola bar, piece of fruit). I pretty much eat something every hour after lunch. That will get your body on some natural energy. Dinner is usually a meat (beef, chicken, or pork), a starch (pasta, rice, potatoes), and a vegetable (beans, peas, corn). I also have a snack later on if I am hungry before bed. Usually a small bowl of ice cream or something. Then I wake up hungry for breakfast and the cycle begins again.
Working out will help too. I don't get to the gym much, but since I got Justin's old weight bench and weights, I can do a lot more at home now. I alternate muscle groups just about every day and one of those exercise balls (great for the abs!). I also run on Saturday mornings about 3 miles. All of this has given me more energy, and toned up my old flabby self. Like everyone said, when you are working out, you just feel better. I can feel it when I miss a day or two. You just don't feel like yourself and that helps motivate you to stick with it. It feels better when you are more active.
If you are already sleeping well, that is good. This will get your body into better shape and allow that sleep to do you some more good.
