I need a new roof ASAP

I heard a dripping noise last night and found my bathroom ceiling drywall as soft as paper mache. I went up in my attic last night immediately after seeing this around 10:30pm. I have about 8 different leaks in random spots. I have a guy scheduled to blow insulation in my attic on the 16th of this month. I live in norther Warren. Who should i call for the work? I can pay cash and need it done before the 16th. Thanks.

Not sure if i should mention its only a 950sqft ranch house. No attach garage. Just house roof needs replacement. Single layer on there now.

Give Mark a call. (586) 228-9965. Tell him Bob from the credit union sent you. Careful, he's a Mustang guy

It really pays to do your homework on these companies. Some of them
offer a lifetime warranty, yet they’ve only been in business for 5 years.
Other companies won’t list their address on their paper work. Some
companies aren’t listed or rated with the Better Business Bureau.

All the companies I contacted above are fully licensed & insured.
I would not consider “part-time roofers” or “fly-by-night roofers”.

Price was not the only factor I considered. The company, the warranty,
the company’s rating, all these things together – Mr. roof won.

I would not recommended ever calling Hansons, not just because they were
ridiculously expensive & they sent two salesmen (everyone else sent one)
but because they were very dishonest, high-pressure folks who will easily
eat up 3 ½ hours of your time!

After getting 13 bids…….The roof job is complete!

I signed the contract with Mr. Roof to do a complete shingle removal, replace any bad
wood decking (they did, 5 sheets), install iceguard 6’ up and the remainder
underlayment was the premium synthetic.

They ran starter strip the full perimeter of the roof. They installed 1 ½ black drip edge
(this looks REALLY nice with the black shingles). They replaced the 4 existing can vents &
installed 5 more new ones (total now is 9).

They finished it off with 50 year black architectural shingles (6 nails per shingle),
cleaned up everything & backed it all up with a 10 year, no cost, transferable, non-prorated
material AND labor warranty.

They completed everything on both roofs in 4 hours!

The amazing thing isn’t simply 4 hours – these guys NEVER stopped working in that
4 hours, no “smoking breaks”, no “coffee breaks” and no “just standing around”.

These guys didn’t stop working until the job was completed. Never a foul word, never a
problem. They were all very polite, helpful & ready to do whatever I asked.

Of course I expected a professional job with courtesy & quality, but I was still
surprised by the high caliber of this teams performance.

If you call a reputable & honest company they will take the
time to answer your every question & explain what & how
they propose to perform this roofing operation.

All any of us can do is offer you our advice / testimony / experience.

I’ve dealt with a good number of contractors in both my work
& some in my personal life. The clear winner for me was Mr. Roof.

I chose this company because:

- The strength & BBB rating
- The Guarantee & warranty (& the ability to back it up)
- The price

I’m not simply saying “use them”, I’m saying I recommend
you at least include them in your roof bids. Every roofer is
going to try to convince you that “they’re the best contractor
for the job”.

Only you can truly determine who is best for you. And that’s
only fair considering you’re the one who’s going pay for it
& have to live with it.

I can tell you Brad doesn't like Mr. Roof ROFL

It is simply a recommendation / opinion.
No harm, no foul - no offense.

I would be curious to know when he had his “experience”
with Mr. Roof. The company was sold several years ago &
the new owners seem to be doing better than the old ones.

But of course, one persons experience with a company isn’t
necessarily someone else’s.

Just had Mr. roof do one of our houses last month and they did a great job and gave a lifetime transferable warranty, at a very competitive price.

Yesterday.

They did my old house a few years ago and I was satisfied.

Oh I know and that wasn't a shot at anyone I actually didnt even see your post; my apologies. Brad is about to go nuclear on Mr. Roof so I had to throw that in there for a laugh :)

Yeah, I'm giving Mr. Roof corporate time to make it right so I'm not totally putting them on blast yet but if you call Mr. Roof and a dude named Matt Young shows up to talk to you slam the door in that asshole's face. Fuck that guy.

I also got a bunch of quotes. Most of the top rated places on Angie's List. Hanson's and Mr Roof. Hanson's also gave me a hilariously high quote. Those guys are out to lunch on pricing. At this point I wish i had gone with American Standard. Pricing and work that was discussed was inline with Mr. Roof and Mr. Roof didn't do everything needed. But like I said, Mr. Roof still has a chance to follow through on the customer service side but having to deal with that at all is obviously a not ideal PITA.

as an aside, I would trust a BBB rating about as much as I would Jelly. in my personal experience, they are controlled by the companies that are members. I had a very very very bad experience with a company. It was well documented including pictures. In the end the BBB said there was nothing they could do, but agreed I had a very well documented case. They marked it as a complaint with a satisfactory outcome. Which it wasn't remotely.

I agree that the BBB isn't a good source for info. Although if something has a terrible rating with them that probably says a lot.

Isn't Mr Roof a franchise type of deal? You have independents putting the name on their old roofing company?

No. Years ago it was owned by one family. It is now
owned by a larger national company, that is in several
states - at least as of a few years ago.

Call my guy Rick. He has done 4 for me. He is by far best price and workmanship I've done business with. 586-698-8078 tell him Steve sent you.

I just went through this process, quotes all over the map from what seemed like a bunch of non professionals who did not know the product they were pushing! I have a family friend who I choose because he was well spoken and knowledgable about all products and gave me options,we drove around to visually see color options which was cool because he said no to my first color choice and showed me the color that really made a huge impact on the curb appeal and overall look of the whole house.Crazy how much a shingle can change the look of a house! He is a 2man crew that takes there time, pulled every nail fixed a couple boards added vents, did more than I'm sure anyone else would have without trying to squeeze another dollar out of me.My house is a little over 1000sq ft roughly so 1800 sq ft roof cost me 4k.tear off,de-nail,72" ice&swather, synthetic felt, double overlapped valleys with ice&swather etc... Did a nice clean up His name is Art Wilkerson 248-361-0602
