HIRING PAINTERS sucks!

I hired first painter to do some painting inside our house, after the first week, he disappears.
I hire second painter, supposed to start yesterday, pushed back to friday, now hopefully sometime next week.

I have all the supplies and paint. I just need someone to caulk, tape and sling paint.

Ugh.
 
I’m in south lyon and it’s the same situation, if they are not extremely expensive they don’t show lol. I ended up painting my own house and saved 7k
 
I’m going thru the same thing trying to get someone out to replace my a/c. Called 2 guys so far, 1 came out looked at the job, never heard from him again. The second guy still has not showed up yet. Getting contractors out is tough right now.

He is awesome and stays pretty busy but he bailed us out last year when we moved.

My wife found a company on Yelp to paint our house. Fair price, but it took them a couple months to get to our job. Looked fine when they were done though.

Hiring any contractor right now sucks. Including me!
There is so much construction work out there that there's not enough people to do the job.
Every trade is so stretched thin, jobs are taking 2-3 time longer to do or even to get at.
With all this "stimulus money" going out is only gonna make it worse for the construction industry.. I'm already hearing from guys that their "lawn guys" are making $665 a week and got an additional 30 weeks to sit at home! OR bribing their employers to pay them cash so they can keep collecting..
Now we have to over pay guys to work and they think they can go job hopping for $2 more an hour with other companies.. I had 6 guys quit last year because they wanted 4-6 bucks more an hour.. told me to tell the boss to fuck off and left, I had to scramble and train new guys that never held a shovel before..no problem, I get the job done... guess who's calling me for their jobs back this year.. Grass wasn't greener on the other side after all.. remember Javier when you told me to tell the boss to fuck off... I got a message from the boss...

Have a Painter coming to paint inside my house the Monday after Easter.
Fingers crossed (have know the guy since I was a 1st grader and he has already painted for me in the past).

These people are so fuckin stupid. I hope they all starve in a few years.
