Nope, 4l60e...9 inch just because i break 10 bolts and everyone breaks them...and it has ls6 heads..

I cant imagine the th-400 will be super driveable if it had any kind of gear in it or a loose converter. Not to knock your choice of transmission but when you put so much money into a th-350 or 400 you might as well have put in an automatic overdrive. They handle just as much power plus overdrive and a lock-up converter.

Its a 4l60e...but not for long..a t-350 will be perfect even for street driving with a good converter. No issues for the 325's at all.
 
I still cant believe how well the 10-bolt has held up in my truck as well as allthrottles10's truck. We both have the same set-up. Vehicle weight must really have that big of an impact.

allthrottles truck is definately has quite a bit more power but rear end still works been workin for like 4-5 years i think

Just FYI, you can damn near dig a TH400 out of the mud at the junkyard and throw 600hp through it. They can tolerate 1000hp with minor modifications. It's got to be by far the cheapest transmission out there that will handle big power. I'm not a trans guy, but apparently I know a lot more than you do about them lol.

:bsflag: Your not going to get any junkyard tranny to take 600hp for any amount of time. Argue all you want, it isnt happening. If that were the case everyone would be "digging" th-400's from old trucks and using them stock on everything.
