ok so im getting either a home equity loan or a home improvment loan...and im going to build me a new garage...but i dont really know where to start...i want it to be roughly 40x25 or so....is there any place that sells prefabbed buildings or garages? im thinking this whole project will run me around 12-15k. thats with everything done and maybe a lift if i can afford it....am i in the right price range with this?

james lumber in Oxford has kits. If you want a lift I suggest a 12 foot and you will need a little more concrete in the area for the hoist. 6inch min I believe.
15 may be a little shy for a fully finished 40x30x12 pole barn.

hmm...well maybe ill have to go a little smaller...i do live in detroit so i cant make it too ghetto fabulous..i can skip the "finishing" part for another time.. i can live with seeing studs for a little while.

Have been thinking about rplacing my garage to something a little nicer of the same size 24x48 with 12 foot high celing and gable roof. It comes to being almost 40K. Doing most of the work myself and my very bestest buddy that wired the lights..You know who you are:D

I helped my friend raise his 48x80 pole bard with 14' walls!!! Man was that a chore. He did look at a pre-fab kit but ended up building it himself to a similar design. Best bet would be to price out materials and concrete and see if you can meet your budget. And as always cash in the friend card for help!
