Hey guys look for alittle help im a chevy (69 camaro guy) and my g/f bought a 85 gt with a 358 tremmic 3550 and 4.10 and lowered 2in and set up to road course basicly..with is great.. but after riding in my car.. she wants it to lunch hard and go strait not turn..lol so im wonder if anyone got any sug on what susp we need to get her she doesnt have alot of cash to spend at the moment so whats a good budget way to go? prices would help thanks alot..

see whats already in the rear, if its stock, replace the stamped steel factory upper and lower arms with some solid ones, and put a slick on that thing and hold on!!!

well would like to do alittle more..she had it at the track once last year and spun all the way though first:peelout: and most of the way though second.. and went like 14.00 at like 110.. so i know its alott fast then that..my buddies got a90 fox with a 347 stroker and its got traction problems also but it went 12.7# and i beat him in her car..so shes got about 600 to 800 set aside to make it go..what do ya think she sould put it toward. i figured atleast some 10/90 and something for the rear.. but im a chevy guy to i dont know what the best buys are

if its set up for road racing, take off the sway bars and put some loose struts on the front and that will be a start...i beleive that weight transfer is more important than control arms at your level...you can have the stock control arms boxed and they will be fine...

remove swaybars
4 cylinder springs
soft shocks/struts
aftermarket lower control arms or poly bushings

if you shop around and buy used you could get away with under 400, but if you sell off the parts you have on there now you may break even or come out ahead depending on whats in it now.

uppers are more important then lowers... you can box the lowers, but need the uppers to adj pinion angle...

now were talkin.. prices is what i was tryin to find.. was thinking about UPR..and 4 cyl springs up front with some 1090s... but probly wont have anuf for slicks.. il probly have to buy them for her..lol. but its a good start

some one told me to look up ground pounders.. and skinny kid.. but i think there kinda pricey..but im not sure..il have to do alittle diggin

Just remember "you get what you pay for". There are many other choices out there for fox body suspensions. TRZ Motorsports, Wolfe race craft, Skinny Kid, etc.. I have seen UPR stuff break on launch, and other stuff of theirs that just will not fit. There are some things you can go "cheap" on, but suspension is one I would not suggest. You can have all the power in the world, but without a good suspension / chassis, the car will never go fast or straight.

TRZ Motorsports stuff (adjustable upper and lower C/A, sperical bushings, and anti-roll bar)......~$800

Wolfe Race Craft (adjustable upper and lower C/A, sperical bushings, and anti-roll bar)......$ Approximately the same as TRZ (wolfe web site currently down)

Skinny Kid Race car stuff (adjustable upper and lower C/A, sperical bushings, and anti-roll bar)......~$1000

Any of these are good set-ups that will handle a ton of power and they work. Good luck.
