Doesn't it seem a bit unprofessional when you get a voicemail to a family home phone number? At least have a business related greeting so you know you dialed the right number.
most definitely

I already have a deep well and I need to trench a drain out to the pond (open loop).
I plan to do a closed loop at some point. The open loop seems wasteful to me. How much water will be pumped from the well to the pond on a yearly basis? Are you planning to use the same well you use for your water supply? If did a well set up I would have two wells so I could return the water back to the ground.
About 2 millions gallons a year would be dumped in the pond, if you don't have a pond to handle it then you obviously would have to have a return well or drain field.
Seems like a lot of water to pump into the pond. How many acres is the pond? How does one go about knowing if their water table for their well can handle an extra 2 Million gallons a year being pumped out of it? I'm sure it filters back in but ponds/lakes seem to have trouble handling a hard rain!
Quick update, DTE and the city approved it all and they came and they're almost done putting in the 400A service. The 350mil wire is massive! I did most of the work myself with the help of a family friend and I was able to pull the permit myself. They ran 3" conduit for 125 feet from the pole underground. When it approached the house they bored it horizontally to keep my plants and sidewalk. I'm going to have a hell of a lot of yardwork/grass/cleaning up to restore come spring time. All that black wire is going to be removed.

hmmm i thought for sure i would be out hooking this up
Are you a pole technician or an excavator? The excavators already did most of their work, the pole techs are coming out, then a meter tech after everyone else is done.
i put in almost all the services in the metro detroit area, i work for Corby Energy Services
I am probably too far north in Lake Orion, the wire is pretty massive. When I was asking about the wire they said they couldn't go any bigger, 350 is the biggest they offer, right?
we basically dig the trench, put the cable in the ground, energize it and plug the meter in.....that is if everything is underground, we dont do overhead work....so we will make joints, or hook up in a transformer or pedestal
I think the overhead guys are meeting the excavators there tomorrow to finish it all up. That wire doesn't go to a pedestal so it goes straight up to the pole. They said they are going to abandon the old wire.
oh ok, in that case we would just leave a coil at the pole and wait for overhead to take it up and energize it......good luck!
